I don't know if it has been noted before but HR 5181 had two Acts passed from it :

S. 2692 Countering Information Warfare Act of 2016, with a budget of $20,000,000 and

S. 3274 Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act, with a budget of $250,000,000

S. 3274 doesn't preclude propagandising US citizens in foreign media.

Apologies to lawfags, I'm not in the US so not fully sure how your system works, and if this is known already (checked notables kek)

Interesting factoid, in my country Facebook is regulated under Irish law as far as I know.

Thanks anon. I knew about the reconciliation thing but hadn't put the H and S thing together kek.

So were these actually passed in to law? In my country an Act is any bill which has been passed in Parliament and assented to by the Queen('s representative, the Governor General, a formality now) only the one house here, no upper house or senate.

So if we call something an Act it is public law, hence the confusion.

No worries and thanks anon, and no my brain hurts knowing that much about it already kek.

My main question was whether S.3274 got its $250,000,000 that it wanted as it does pretty much the same thing.

I see someone found what looks like where some money is being spent on bread #3161 >>2506222

The Global Engagement Center. But everyone seems sketchy on the actual budget (i.e. Is it S.2692 flavoured or S.3274 flavoured).
