ROOKE: Journalists Banned From White House Receive Vomit-Inducing Hero’s Welcome Upon Return

The White House press corps spent Thursdaystaging a highly theatrical display of self-regardas they welcomed banned reporters back from exile.

Reporters from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, barred from the complex Friday, were ushered back onto the grounds after U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, granted a 14-day temporary restraining order. Colleagues greeted them as if they had returned from war, complete with applause, selfies, and solemn behind-the-scenes footage of reporters walking into the White House.

Honestly, it was all a bit much.

President Donald Trump announced the ban in a Truth Social post Friday, saying that the three outlets should not enjoy privileged access to the White House while they “constantly write or report FICTION and LIES.” No matter how one feels about the ban, access to the White House is a privilege, and presidents from both parties have taken liberties in deciding which organizations receive the coveted access.

Rather than spending their timeout reflecting on why they found themselves in the corner, they chose a level of pageantry that is more typical of a toddler who didn’t learn his lesson than a credentialed White House reporter. It didn’t matter that President Xi Jinping was traveling to the White House; this was their moment to bask in the glow of their victimhood. Their colleagues were more than happy to oblige. Like clapping walruses, networks that had withdrawn from the television pool in solidarity with their comrades now treated the returning correspondents as symbols of journalistic valor.

It’s all so comical coming from the same people who spend so much time lecturing others about accountability. Treating the returning reporters as martyrs might play well at their dinner parties, but with everyday Americans, it invites them to conclude that, once again, the press corps firmly believes that any attempt to hold them accountable should be seen as an assault on the free press. There’s no such thing as self-examination among the morally superior.

Thursday’s spectacle was embarrassing, but mostly because it was so predictable. If anything, the more they cheered for their colleagues, the louder their contradictions became.

University of Chicago Staff Backs Off Attempt to Cancel Campus Event With Red-Pilled YouTuber Tim Pool

Tim Pool is a popular YouTube personality who has become increasingly red-pilled in the age of Trump. He now frequently claims that the left is a cult.

Pool is set to give a talk at the University of Chicago in October and some people on the staff were trying to get the event canceled.They have since thought better of it and have backed off.

This is typical of the left. They routinely try to silence anyone who tries to speak on college campuses if the speaker is perceived to be anywhere to the right of Bernie Sanders.

U. Chicago reverses, won’t cancel ‘controversial’ Tim Pool event

University of Chicago staff backed down on a plan to cancel a “controversial” event with commentator Tim Pool, scheduled for Oct. 9.

Just weeks after being named the best school for free speech by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, the college told organizers the event would need to be canceled.

The cancellation attempt follows the school’s long history of denying a Turning Point USA chapter, despite the school’s professed commitment to free speech.

The Chicago Thinker reports:

In an obtained email exchange, and only with the description of the event given and knowledge of it being booked by UChicago TPUSA, [the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures] told Thinker organizers that their event “might be, as the terminology goes “controversial,” and therefore could not occur in Breasted Hall on October 9th due to controversial events allegedly requiring an infeasible heightened security arrangement where ISAC would close its museum gallery. ISAC further says they should have been informed about the event’s “controversial” nature earlier. ISAC asked no questions about the “controversial” nature of events in their Event Request Form, or in subsequent email exchanges with Thinker organizers to book the venue.

FBI Reportedly Reassigns Two Counterterror Chiefs Over Handling of Katie Miller Harassment Case

The FBI has reportedly pulled two veteran counterterrorism supervisors out of the Washington Field Office after their team decided harassing calls to Katie Miller, wife of senior White House adviser Stephen Miller, did not meet the bureau’s bar for a full investigation.

Michael Burgwald, the special agent in charge of counterterrorism at WFO, and his deputy, Courtland Rae, were stripped of those jobs Friday and sent to headquarters.

Bloomberg Law reporter Ben Penn broke the news in a post on X.

Anonymous sources told CNN the field team reviewed calls Katie Miller received from unknown numbers, found no terrorism nexus, and said the conduct did not clear the FBI threshold.

Those sources claimed that finding did not sit well with bureau leadership.

MS NOW reported that Burgwald and Rae questioned the legality of a threat-assessment request on a person believed to be making the calls, and that Stephen Miller and FBI Director Kash Patel were unhappy with the pace.

However, FBI’s DC chief Darren Cox told Penn, “Director Patel did not order this decision. This was a personnel decision made at the Washington field office level alone based on our constant evaluation of mission needs. Any suggestion otherwise is false.”

White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told Bloomberg that Stephen and Katie Miller never met Burgwald or Rae.

“Senior leadership at the FBI determined they were stifling investigations into very serious threats and made a unilateral decision to remove them.”

Last year, after flyers attacking Stephen Miller went up in their neighborhood,they pushed for a stronger response and later moved with their children into military housing.

DHS Debunks ICE Deportation Stand-Down Rumor

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is denying a Saturday evening rumor claiming ICE agents were told to stop arresting non-violent illegal migrants.

“This is false,” the agency announced just after midnight:

No one is off the table. We will continue to arrest any and all illegal aliens that come into our path. Anyone in our country illegally will be arrested and deported. In an effort to protect American citizens, ICE has initiated a nationwide public safety surge in sanctuary cities where our brave officers will be targeting criminal illegal aliens—many released from jails by sanctuary politicians—including murderers, rapists, child predators, and gang members.

The rumor spread rapidly on Saturday night because many Trump voters see the growing pressure by the GOP’s pro-migration establishment.

For example, long-time GOP advisor Karl Rove criticized Trump’s pro-American migration policy during a left-wing event in Texas on Saturday:

Business pressure has prodded Trump to sharply reduce ICE operations against the mass employment of low-wage illegals at hotels, restaurants, gas stations, retail stores, and farms.But Trump has also blocked the inflow of new migrants, and his ICE agency is arresting roughly 50,000 migrants per month.

Deportations have likely exceeded 2 million, and his deputies are also trimming the massive use of white-collar visa workers.

Trump’s uncomfortable zig-zag politics is helping to preserve Trump’s populist-and-business coalition before the 2026 election while also moving the nation towards the goal of restoring Americans’ political and economic power in their home country.

Trump’s deputies used Fox News reporter Bill Melugin to shut down the rumor:

I’ve spoken on the phone with President Trump and nine ICE & DHS sources about this today. Here’s what I’ve learned.

Yes, this verbal guidance did go out to ICE offices across the country last night. I’ve spoken with ICE agents who received it & were shocked & frustrated by it. It’s unclear who it started with. However, I’m told it’s erroneous, was some type of “miscommunication” during conversations about prioritizing “worst first”, and there is no change in immigration enforcement policy. President Trump tells me anyone in the country illegally remains “on the table” for ICE arrest & deportation. I’m also told new guidance went out to ICE field offices tonight to reaffirm this and that yes, arrests of illegal aliens and “collaterals” without additional criminal history will continue. ICE sources confirm to me they received the new guidance.

I’m not really sure what happened here – but everyone is on the same page, including President Trump, in telling me that his immigration enforcement agenda isn’t scaling back.

As the rumor was spreading online, President Trump was using his social media account to slam GOP amnesty advocate Rep. Maria Salazar. She is working with pro-migration GOP legislators to pass a massive corporate giveaway in the lame-duck session after the election.

Trump Kills Biden’s ‘Ridiculous’ Auto Mileage Standards, Promising a Boon to Buyers and Manufacturers

President Donald Trump on Saturday cancelled a daunting Joe Biden environmental policy,reversing the former president’s stricter fuel economy rules aimed at promoting use of electric vehicles.

The new rollback is playing out like a game of policy ping pong, as it was Biden who negated Trump’s first set of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFÉ) reductions in his first term — rules that dictate the kind of mileage vehicles must get to be sold to consumers.

Since CAFE standards were established in 1975, they have been periodically revised to prompt automakers to make their vehicles more efficient.

In his first term, Trump had reduced Barack Obama’ standards that required a five percent annual increase in efficiency to a 1.5 percent annual increase.

Biden pounced on the Trump policy, his administration eager to promote the manufacture and sales of electric vehicles to purportedly reduce carbon emissions and address what Biden repeatedly called the “existential threat” of climate change.

“Under the standards Biden put in place after taking office automakers would have had to increase the fuel efficiency of their passenger cars and light trucks to roughly 50 miles per gallon by 2031,” CNBC reported.

Trump portrayed that standard as expensive and impractical, flagging his new policy change as a positive for both manufacturers and consumers, though the final standards are pending.

Announcing the rollback on Truth Social, Trump, took a shot at both Biden and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, writing:

BIG DAY FOR AMERICAN AUTO WORKERS AND CAR BUYERS! I have just approved new Fuel Economy Standards that TERMINATE Sleepy Joe Biden and Pete Boot-EDGE-EDGE’s ridiculous EV Mandate. The Dumocrats cost our Great Auto Manufacturers $Billions, forced Americans into cars they never wanted, and wasted Billions on Chargers that were never built.

These new Standards will take the waste out of building cars in America. That means LOWER PRICES, saving families thousands on a new, beautiful, and safe car — Far better than the Environmental Monsters that we were building heretofore. Every Manufacturer, from General Motors to Ford to Stellantis, has called me wanting to build here, and now they can!

Trump also wrote that more than $100 billion being invested by manufacturers in automobile production in America, promising that plants and jobs were coming back to the Midwest and the south.

Trump had promised in his 2024 campaign that he would rescind policies that encouraged or incentivized electric vehicles.

Analysts say less restrictive CAFE standards give consumers more choice and automakers more profit.

“Weaker fuel economy standards mean that automakers can produce more pickup trucks and SUVs, which are much more profitable than smaller cars but have worse gas mileage,” CNBC reported.

Electric vehicles also have not become the rage that promoters and environmentalists hoped for, despite the incessant fear campaigns generated by climate change alarmists.

Automakers now find them a much less attractive product, though electric car leader Tesla maintains a loyal customer base and other companies General Motors plans to still offer models.
