Federal Judge Blocks $100,000 Fee For H-1B Visas

A second federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from imposing a $100,000 fee on H-1B visas, which allow U.S. companies to hire high-skilled foreign workers.

U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam, based in Oakland, California, determined that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the State Department did not adhere to proper federal rule-making processes before the implementation of the fee went into effect.

In the 35-page decision, Gilliam on Sept. 30 blocked the agencies from implementing the fee ordered by President Donald Trump in a Sept. 9, 2025, presidential proclamation. The block will remain in place until the federal rule-making process has been followed, the judge ordered, including a formal proposal for a rule change and a standard 30- to 60-day period for public comment.

In the initial lawsuit, the plaintiffs - a coalition of unions, employers, and nonprofit organizations - requested the court block the administration from imposing the new fee and require federal agencies to process H-1B visas in accordance with existing law.

They argued in a lawsuit that Trump has no authority to unilaterally impose fees, taxes, or other mechanisms to generate revenue for the United States.

"Here, the President disregarded those limitations, asserted power he does not have, and displaced a complex, Congressionally specified system for evaluating petitions and granting H-1B visas," the lawsuit said.

The plaintiffs, including Global Nurse Force and the American Association of University Professors, among others, claimed that the Trump administration failed to assess how the fees would affect hospitals, schools, churches, and universities that rely on the H-1B program.

"Without relief, hospitals will lose medical staff, churches will lose pastors, classrooms will lose teachers, and industries across the country risk losing key innovators," litigation and advocacy nonprofit Democracy Forward Foundation, representing the plaintiffs, said in a statement.

The group applauded the ruling.

Migrant student youths have set fire to multiple buses and even fire trucks in the French city of Marseille as chaos spreads.

The Marseille transport authority, RTM, said several of its buses "were targeted near high schools in the north and east of Marseille," that "drivers had to leave their vehicles in a hurry and one of them was assaulted."

The regional Marseille government said an "unacceptable line" had been crossed at Victor Hugo High School, where "the principal, the deputy principal, the general secretary and the team leader were assaulted and doused with gasoline," according to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, cited by BFMTV.

Norway probes senior state officials’ Epstein links

Eleven current and former foreign and development ministers face parliamentary questioning over government grants and contacts linked to the late US sex offender

Norway’s parliament has begun a public inquiry into ties the country’s political and diplomatic elite had with US pedophile and financier Jeffrey Epstein. Eleven current and former foreign and development ministers, including Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, who served as foreign minister from 2005 to 2012, will face questioning.

The Epstein files released by the US Department of Justice earlier this year revealed his often toxic connections to politicians, royals, and other prominent figures, for whom he is thought to have provided underage girls for sex. The disclosures have prompted parliamentary and police investigations in Norway.

The Norwegian parliamentary Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs is examining the Foreign Ministry’s handling of international aid funds, internal oversight mechanisms, and whether personal relationships involving Epstein may have influenced government decisions. Committee member Jonas Andersen Sayed has said the government must explain what it is doing to restore trust in the foreign service.

Questions are also swirling over Norway’s funding of the International Peace Institute (IPI), which received around 130 million kroner ($13.5 million) from the Foreign Ministry between 1997 and 2018. The international think tank was led by Norwegian diplomat Terje Roed-Larsen from 2005 to 2020.

Norway, home to the Nobel Peace Prize and a longstanding player in international diplomacy, has faced heightened scrutiny over Epstein’s connections to its political and diplomatic circles.

Roed-Larsen, a central figure in the 1990s Middle East peace talks and a key architect of the 1993 Oslo Accords, is among several prominent Norwegians under investigation by Norway’s economic crime authority, Oekokrim, following the disclosure of the Epstein files.

Former Prime Minister Thorbjoern Jagland and former diplomat Mona Juul are also under investigation. Juul and Jagland are suspected of aggravated corruption, while Roed-Larsen is suspected of complicity in aggravated corruption. All three have denied wrongdoing.

Former Foreign Minister Boerge Brende, meanwhile, testified before the committee after stepping down as president and CEO of the World Economic Forum in February amid scrutiny of his contacts with Epstein.

Separately, the parliament has appointed an independent commission of academics and legal experts to examine matters raised by the Epstein files. The commission is due to submit its findings by January 31, 2028.

Irregular: The Israeli Company with Intelligence Ties at the Center of the Rogue AI Incidents

The company at the center of recent “rogue AI” incidents is deeply connected to Israeli intelligence and the Effective Altruism movement.

On Friday, September 18, Google acknowledged that its Gemini artificial intelligence chatbot had “escaped its testing environment in May and hacked into three companies.”

According to Google, the AI models found passwords available online and logged into the online infrastructure of three companies. Once Gemini gained access to the companies’ real-world infrastructure, it recognized it was not in a simulated environment and ended the attacks.

The Gemini incident followed reports of similar attempted hacks or escapes by AI agents developed by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Meta.

These reports of AI agents attacking other companies and escaping their environments have led to a barrage of calls for legal action and warnings about impending doom. From claims that humanity is in danger of being killed by AI in the next decade to calls for a coordinated slowdown of AI research, fears that AI will negatively impact the future of the planet have gone mainstream.

While it’s important to take a sober look at the warnings from employees of the Big Tech companies developing AI models, as well as the CEOs, it is equally important to interrogate this narrative. Some skeptics have already claimed that the Big Tech companies are seeking to profit from the reports of the alleged danger posed by their AI models. Others speculate that the companies may be calling for regulation of their industry to shape government policies and potentially undercut future competitors and smaller AI firms.

To better understand whether these reports are genuine, represent an attempt at widening profit margins, or simply another sign of regulatory capture, we need a closer examination of the company at the center of several of these “rogue AI” incidents.

While nearly a dozen incidents have been reported in total, the “escapes” reported by Google, OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic happened during tests designed to measure the capabilities of the AI bots. Each of those tests was being conducted by a company known as Irregular, an Israeli AI security firm that conducts third-party tests of frontier models.

Irregular has stated that the AI agents were able to take unapproved actions because internet access was “unintentionally made available.” They say the errors have been patched and similar incidents should no longer be possible.

The Irregular-Israeli Connection

Irregular describes itself as “the first frontier security lab with the mission of protecting the world in the time of increasingly capable and sophisticated AI systems.” The company, formerly known as Pattern Labs, was founded in 2023 by Dan Lahav and Omer Nevo. Lahav serves as Irregular’s CEO and Nevo as the CTO. The two Israeli citizens met while they were students participating in competitive debate at Tel Aviv University.

In September 2025, the company raised $80 million in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital and Redpoint Ventures. The company was also supported by angel investor Assaf Rappaport, CEO of Wiz. Irregular was reportedly valued at $450 million at the time.

While the corporate media have begun noticing the “Israeli startup” connected to these claims of “rogue AI” events, so far none have dug into Irregular’s numerous connections to the Israeli intelligence apparatus. However, upon deeper inspection, there are several intelligence layers worth exploring. Let’s start with the founders of Irregular.

Dan Lahav claims he started working in the tech sector at age fourteen. He served in Israel’s Unit 81 before completing a master’s in bioinformatics and lecturing at Tel Aviv University. Unit 81 is a highly classified technology unit that is part of the Special Operations Division of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate. The secretive organization trains Israel’s spies on how to use the latest cutting-edge technologies.

Omer Nevo also spent time in Israel’s spy networks, reportedly working for Unit 8200 for twelve years. Unit 8200 is an elite Israeli unit mainly involved in signals intelligence, surveillance, cyberwarfare, and code decryption. Sometimes compared to the Israeli equivalent of the US National Security Agency, Unit 8200 is infamous for surveillance of Palestinian civilians and using intercepted communications as blackmail against Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank.

A federal judge let Raquel Pacheco’s First Amendment claims proceed after officers told the veteran to “refrain” from posts critical of Mayor Steven Meiner.

Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner sent Raquel Pacheco’s Facebook post to police. Detectives then arrived at the veteran’s home, questioned her about speech critical of Meiner’s Israel stance, and told her to “refrain from posting things like that.”

Pacheco, who served six years in the Connecticut National Guard, was not charged with a crime. The officers told her the post could “probably incite somebody to do something,” after she challenged them from her doorway: “This is freedom of speech. This is America, right?”

Pacheco sued the city, Meiner, Police Chief Wayne Jones, and others in March. Her complaint says officials used police power to punish protected criticism of Meiner and Palestine. Meiner has called the suit inaccurate; Jones said the visit aimed at a “frank conversation,” not the removal of speech, CBS Miami reported.

Chief U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga ruled Sept. 28 that ordering a police visit to discuss a resident’s speech can support a viewpoint-discrimination claim. She found Pacheco adequately alleged that her viewpoint motivated Meiner’s decision to send police.

The court dismissed some claims and barred money damages against Meiner and Jones under qualified immunity. It kept surviving claims for declaratory and injunctive relief alive, lifted the discovery stay, and ordered the city defendants to answer by Oct. 12.

16 U.S. Trucking Companies File For Bankruptcy In Less Than A Month As Diesel Prices Soar

Diesel prices have exploded over the past month, creating another major cost shock for an industry that was already operating on thin margins. The national average climbed from roughly $5.60 per gallon at the end of August to a record $6.53 in late September, an increase of about 17% in just a few weeks. Prices have eased slightly from that peak, but the EIA’s latest weekly reading still puts diesel at $6.38 per gallon, compared with $5.60 at the end of August.

Now the financial damage is beginning to show up. Sixteen American trucking companies have entered bankruptcy proceedings in less than a month, affecting more than 250 jobs, according to FreightWaves and the Independent. Eight filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, allowing them to continue operating while restructuring their debts, while seven entered Chapter 7 and are liquidating their assets and shutting down.

Among the larger companies seeking Chapter 11 protection are Xoco Transport and Globemaster. Neither specified the cause of its financial problems in federal court filings, and diesel is hardly the industry's only problem. Carriers have also been grappling with rising labor, insurance, maintenance and regulatory costs, while seasonal slowdowns can leave them without enough revenue to absorb those increases.

But the sudden surge in fuel costs adds another layer of pressure because trucking companies have limited options when diesel jumps this quickly. They can absorb the expense and sacrifice margins, pass it through with higher freight rates and risk losing business, or cut workers and equipment. The latter can keep a company alive temporarily, but it also reduces shipping capacity and the amount of revenue the carrier can generate.

And for now, there is little reason to consider the diesel problem resolved. Prices remain near historic highs and are still heavily tied to the war with Iran and the resulting disruption to global energy supplies.

Even as crude shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have begun recovering, refined-product flows remain constrained, inventories have been depleted and damaged Middle Eastern refining infrastructure continues to limit supply. Until those disruptions ease materially, diesel remains another major transmission mechanism through which the Iran war is feeding directly into the U.S. economy.

Israeli Bombing of Van in Gaza City Kills Six Palestinians

Two other Palestinians were killed in separate attacks, bringing Wednesday's death toll to at least eight

An Israeli strike hit a vehicle in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, killing at least six Palestinians, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, 10 others were wounded in the strike. Photos of the aftermath show the strike destroyed a large van, which Gaza’s Health Ministry described as a “civilian vehicle” that was carrying a “group of citizens.”

WAFA also reported that a woman was killed by a separate Israeli strike on an apartment building in Gaza City and another person was killed by an Israeli drone attack in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, bringing Wednesday’s death toll to at least eight.

The Health Ministry said in its daily update, released about midday Gaza time, before the bombing of the van, that over the past 24 hours, at least eight Palestinians were killed, and 31 were injured over the past 24 hours, as the IDF appears to have escalated its attacks in recent days. The ministry said that another person, a woman, died of wounds sustained in a previous Israeli attack.

Since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,431 Palestinians and wounded 5,026. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, Israel has violated the ceasefire more than 5,000 times.

The US continues to back Israel’s attacks in Gaza despite President Trump and the so-called Board of Peace recently announcing that Hamas had agreed to a US-proposed disarmament deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the potential agreement, and other senior Israeli ministers continue to make clear that their ultimate goal for Gaza is the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population.

'Sensitive Security Situation': Israeli Army Chief Abruptly Cancels Trip To US

The Israel military's Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has canceled a planned trip to the US due to a "sensitive security situation," Israeli news outlet i24 reported on 30 September.

There is "increased alertness" in the army, said i24 military analyst Yossi Yehoshua. "The decision to cancel the trip was made by the military's top echelon even before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements yesterday regarding threats to Israel," the report added.

A senior Israeli army source told i24, "You can't put the military on alert and fly abroad."

Zamir was scheduled to hold multiple meetings with the commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM).

"The talks were intended to deal with joint security coordination and preparations for developments in the region. Nevertheless, the state of high alert declared in the operational units of the [military], alongside the need for close management of readiness on the ground, determined that at this time the chief of staff must remain in Israel," the outlet wrote.

A FlyDubai jet headed from Dubai to Tel Aviv landed in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after the Emirati pilot was attacked by his Omani copilot – reportedly in an effort to crash the plane.

Hebrew media reports say Tel Aviv is suspecting it was an "attempted terror attack."

One day before the incident took place, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security establishment assessment and talks with opposition leader Yair Lapid over an alleged, pre-Israeli election "security threat" that the premier had announced earlier on Tuesday.

"There are signs our enemies will try to attack us ahead of election," Netanyahu had announced on Tuesday.

"Don’t mess with us, not now and not ever. Our long arm will reach you anywhere and at any time," he added.

Netanyahu’s threats coincide with a US military buildup of around 50,000 troops deployed across West Asia.

Let us put this in a historical perspective: the commemoration of the War to End All Wars acknowledges that 15 million lives were lost in the course of World War I (1914-18).

The loss of life in the Second World War (1939-1945) was on a much large scale, when compared to World War I: 60 million lives both military and civilian were lost during World War II. (Four times those killed during World War I).

The largest WWII casualties were China and the Soviet Union:

26 million in the Soviet Union,

China estimates its losses at approximately 20 million deaths.

Ironically, these two countries (allies of the US during WWII) which lost a large share of their population during WWII are now under the Trump’s MAGA administration categorized as “enemies of America,” which are threatening the Western world.

Germany and Austria lost approximately 8 million people during WWII, Japan lost more than 2.5 million people.

The US and Britain respectively lost more than 400,000 lives.

Gaping holes in Israel’s ‘FlyDubai’ false-flag pantomime mocked

The massive holes and comedy in Israel’s narrative of the supposed ‘Fly Dubai’ ‘drama‘ (as in fiction) are already being exposed and mocked.

The ‘drama’

Supposedly, the co-pilot on the flight stabbed the captain. Initially, Israeli narrators claimed that the plane plummeted thousands of feet and then the stabbing took place. Then the passengers stormed the cockpit and overpowered the attacker, except airliner cockpit doors are secure, so the story changed to the badly wounded captain managing to open the secure door from inside, with his foot. Then there just happened to be two spare Israeli pilots who were able to land the flight safely.

This carefully-planned terrorist attack, we’re asked to believe, didn’t involve the co-pilot quietly killing the captain first and taking control of the flight while the passengers remained blissfully ignorant until too late.

This — excuse the pun — obviously won’t fly. Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t taken long for people to point out the gaping flaws and plot holes. That it happened as Netanyahu’s election D-day approaches. Or to point out that Israel is desperate to be seen as the plucky victim again instead of the genocidal, warmongering, racist land-theft project:

Israel — a history of false flags

Israel has a long, long history ‘false flag’ attacks designed to put blame on an uninvolved group or nation (like Hamas). In June 2025, former Israeli negotiator Daniel Levi warned that a false-flag attack was likely as Israel sought to increase US engagement in a direct war on Iran. His warning was inadvertently reinforced by the actions of pro-Israel mouthpieces in the US, who at the same time began setting the scene by predicting an Iranian attack on US soil or against a US vessel.

Israel has shown itself perfectly willing to endanger its own people in these false flags, including planting bombs and attacking Jewish businesses in Egypt to drive Jewish people to flee to the colony. It has shown itself perfectly willing to murder even Israeli citizens outright, slaughtering hundreds in a long day of ‘Hannibal’ attacks on 7 October 2023.

And it is even more willing to kill citizens of other nations, like its air attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 to try to provoke the US into attacking Egypt. In 1994 it bombed Jewish targets in London and blamed the attacks on Palestinian activists.

The false-flag ‘attack’ on a US air base last week, meant to justify full UK entry into the war on Iran, fell apart in farce in barely a day. Israel’s ‘FlyDubai incident’ is so far-fetched it has taken only hours, despite the efforts of UK media and politicians to shore it up.

Contradictory Reports on Flydubai Flight to Israel Leave More Questions Than Answers

A flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv descended thousands of feet in seconds on September 30, after a violent confrontation erupted in the cockpit and one pilot was stabbed. The Boeing 737 eventually landed safely in Saudi Arabia, but less than a day later, the central questions surrounding the incident remained unresolved even as Israeli leaders had already attached a motive to it.

Flight FZ1073 was carrying 174 passengers when it suddenly lost nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds, according to Reuters.

The aircraft transmitted emergency and unlawful-interference signals before diverting to Tabuk, where both pilots were taken to hospital. Passengers and crew then subdued the attacker, allowing other flydubai crew members aboard the aircraft to take control and land it safely.

That sequence is among the few parts of the story that have remained broadly consistent. Almost everything around it has been less certain.

Early reports circulated by Israeli media described a fight involving Russian and Ukrainian pilots. Russia’s consulate in Dubai later said there was no Russian pilot on the flight and that the reports were false.

Other early accounts identified the captain as Emirati or Saudi. Those versions were superseded when Indian authorities and Reuters identified the wounded captain as Smit Machchhar, an Indian national.

The same pattern appeared in accounts of who actually flew the aircraft after the cockpit confrontation. Some reports initially said two off-duty pilots traveling as passengers had landed the plane.

Flydubai’s own statement said the aircraft was brought under control by its on-duty crew, while other reporting described additional flydubai pilots already aboard. The airline has not publicly provided a detailed account of which individual pilots were at the controls during the emergency landing.

There is greater agreement over what happened inside the cockpit. Israeli authorities say the co-pilot stabbed Machchhar and attempted to crash the aircraft.

Passengers reported hearing a struggle and then seeing blood in the cockpit. Machchhar was able to open the cockpit door despite his injuries, allowing passengers and crew members to enter and overpower the attacker.

But even that account still leaves a critical distinction unresolved: whether the attacker deliberately sought to destroy the aircraft and whether that act had a political or ideological motive.

Flydubai has explicitly warned against drawing conclusions before the investigation is completed, saying the reasons and motives remain unknown.

The United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the causes and circumstances, while Saudi authorities are questioning the detained co-pilot. Israel’s security agencies are also involved, but Reuters reported on October 1 that no motive or terrorist connection had been established.

That caution contrasts sharply with the language adopted by Israel’s political leadership within hours. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said one pilot had apparently tried to crash the plane after stabbing the other.

Defense Minister Israel Katz went further, calling the incident an “attempted jihadist terrorist attack” and saying preliminary information indicated that the attacker intended to kill everyone aboard. Katz did not publicly identify the evidence supporting that conclusion.

The timing matters without necessarily establishing a connection. One day before the flight incident, Netanyahu had warned that Israel’s enemies might attempt attacks ahead of the country’s October 27 election.

The warning itself had already become a political controversy, with opposition figures demanding more information and questioning whether such warnings could be used for political advantage.

The identity reportedly given to the attacker created another unresolved problem. Israeli media identified him as an Omani national, while Israel has no diplomatic relations with Oman.

Former CIA officer Larry Johnson set about analysing a news report that had already made headlines around the world. A Fly Dubai aircraft en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia following an alleged attack on the cockpit. One pilot was said to have stabbed the other. An Israeli was credited with saving the day. Johnson says the version being sold does not survive the locked door.

THE STORY THEY SOLD

➡️ A Fly Dubai flight bound for Tel Aviv landed in Saudi Arabia after what was described as an attack inside the airplane.

Passengers were told someone tried to kill the pilot and the co-pilot.

➡️ The version Johnson heard puts an Omani co-pilot stabbing the Indian captain, then an Israeli pilot rushing forward to save the flight.

Benjamin Netanyahu posted that the wounded captain opened the door and led people out.

➡️ Johnson’s first reaction was simple. “Story doesn’t add up.”

THE LOCKED DOOR

➡️ Johnson has been on a lot of airplanes in the 23 years since 9/11. The cockpit door is locked. That is the point of the rule.

“You don’t know what’s going on behind that locked door.”

➡️ The sold version needs people in the back to magically know a stabbing is underway and burst in to stop it.

That only works if Fly Dubai is the only airline on earth that leaves the pilot door open.

➡️ Two pilots sit side by side. One stabbing the other still has pedals and throttles under his hands. A man choked from behind can still move the airplane.

Johnson says the crew has no camera feeding the cabin. So how did anyone know there was a problem, and who unlocked the door?

THE HERO DETAIL THAT BREAKS

➡️ Netanyahu’s version says the main pilot, stabbed and badly wounded, opened the door and led people out.

Johnson has seen a cockpit. Climbing out of those seats is not a step and a stroll.

➡️ A stabbed man gets up, unlocks the door, and calls for help, while the man stabbing him simply lets him go.

“Something smells.”

THE MISSING MEN

➡️ Israel said it would send a C-130 to evacuate the passengers. Saudi Arabia said no. The same airline would move them.

The jet later landed in Israel. Footage of the arrival exists. Footage of the crime does not.

➡️ Johnson asks where the stabbed pilot is. A Saudi hospital? Nobody has shown him.

He asks where the man who did the stabbing is. No picture. No information. Nothing came out.

➡️ He would not be surprised if this is a campaign stunt by Netanyahu. A staged event. An election stunt, maybe.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Larry Johnson is not buying the terror tale. A locked door, a wounded pilot who unlocks it, an attacker who lets him, and two missing men with no photos are not a clean story. They are a story with the lights left off. Something in this one smells, and the smell is coming from the official version.
