Hillary’s sorry state of affairs

A State Department whistleblower has accused high-ranking staff of a massive coverup — including keeping a lid on findings that members of then-Secretary Hillary Clinton’s security detail and the Belgian ambassador solicited prostitutes.

A chief investigator for the agency’s inspector general wrote a memo outlining eight cases that were derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills.

Any mention of the cases was removed from an IG report about problems within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), which provides protection and investigates crimes involving any State Department workers overseas.

“It’s a coverup,” declared Cary Schulman, a lawyer representing the whistleblower, former State Department IG senior investigator Aurelia Fedenisn.“The whole agency is impaired.

“Undue influence . . . is coming from political appointees. It’s coming from above the criminal- investigation unit,” added Schulman, whose client provided the document with the revelations.

Brock apologized long ago for his role as a Clinton attacker and dramatically shifted sides. Now, he is central to Clinton’s run for the White House as a linchpin of her shadow campaign.

“Maybe he actually is a republican plant,” said Podesta in an email to former aide Neera Tanden.

Vice President JD Vance chaired a secret Friday meeting with Trump's top national security officials at Camp David on Iran and the Saudi-Houthi conflict, according to Axios. The session, never announced by the White House, came as tanker attacks hit the Strait of Hormuz, Houthi missiles struck Riyadh, and the G7 moved to release 100 million barrels of oil reserves to calm markets.

President Trump's top national security officials gathered for hours at Camp David on Friday, October 2, to map out next steps on the Iran war and the escalating Saudi-Houthi conflict in Yemen, according to Axios, which cited three U.S. officials. The White House did not announce the meeting.

The secrecy was unusual. The last similar closed-door session happened in June 2025, days before Israel launched its war against Iran.

Vice President JD Vance chaired Friday's meeting, according to Axios. Annahar, citing the same Axios reporting, named the other attendees: Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Dan Caine. One official told Axios "things were decided or discussed in depth."

The meeting happened as negotiations with Tehran have stalled. Trump is weighing whether to resume major combat operations in Iran, according to Axios. On Thursday, Trump said: "Now I have to make a decision: either Iran signs the agreement, or it will no longer exist," according to Annahar's translation of his remarks. He also said he would impose a "steel wall" on Iran and predicted the war would end soon.

Asked Friday afternoon, while his advisers were meeting without him, what his next move would be, Trump told reporters: "If I told you, it would be big news. But you'll see. Things are going well," according to Annahar.

Medical Plane Goes Missing on Flight From Bermuda to Boston

The plane, a Gulfstream G100 with 6 people aboard, lost contact at around 2 a.m. A search was underway Saturday off the coast of Nantucket.

The United States Coast Guard was searching Saturday for a medical transfer aircraft that went missing on its way to Boston from Bermuda, officials said.

The Federal Aviation Administration notified the Coast Guard that it had lost contact with the plane, a Gulfstream G100 with six people on board, around 2 a.m., the Coast Guard said in a statement.

The search was off the coast of Nantucket and involved planes, a helicopter and boats, the Coast Guard said.

The missing plane was operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, said Clarence Togeretz, a spokesman for the company. Latitude provides medical evacuation and repatriation services, flying people to hospitals or bringing them back to their home countries, according to its website.

Mr. Togeretz confirmed Saturday that the plane was missing and said that the company had contacted search and rescue and law enforcement services. He declined to provide further information about the flight.

Latitude operates 10 planes, according to its website, including four Gulfstream G100s, which are typically staffed with a nurse and a respiratory therapist. Some flights may also include a physician. It was unclear if the six people on board were staff or if the flight also included patients.

The main focus of the medical team on the plane, which is equipped with I.C.U. equipment and supplies, “is patient care within the limited space of the aircraft” and looking after companions during the flight, according to Latitude’s website.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

The flight plummeted from 23,500 feet to 11,000 feet in just three minutes starting at 1:04 a.m., according to FlightAware data.

The final radar ping came at 1:23 a.m., shortly before they were scheduled to land, the data showed.
