FOX BURIED IT: Patrick Byrne Says Network Settled Dominion Case So It Wouldn’t Help Trump

The former Overstock CEO says his associates supplied Fox evidence to beat Dominion, but the network paid $787.5 million rather than take the case to trial.

Patrick Byrne says Fox News had the material it needed to fight Dominion Voting Systems and buried it because a trial could have helped President Trump.

The former Overstock CEO wrote in a Sept. 20 X post that two partners, whom he identified only as Gary and Martin, “brought Fox everything they needed to win against Dominion.” Byrne’s conclusion: “Fox settled to avoid helping Trump.”

In a new LindellTV clip, Byrne sharpened the accusation. He said people working with him briefed Mike Pompeo and Paul Ryan on voting-system information before the settlement. “They deliberately buried this and settled that case so as not to help Trump,” Byrne said.

Fox paid Dominion $787.5 million on April 18, 2023, ending the defamation case after jury selection and before opening statements. The Delaware Superior Court had already ruled certain statements about Dominion were false while leaving actual malice for a jury.

Fox gave a different public account. Its settlement statement acknowledged the court’s rulings and said it settled rather than continue “the acrimony of a divisive trial.”

Byrne says the unanswered question sits inside Fox’s internal communications. “When those emails get out, that should destroy Fox,” he said.

Washington Loses Up to Half a Trillion Dollars Every Year to Fraud

The Government Accountability Office estimates that the federal government loses between $233 BILLION and $521 BILLION every year to fraud. We are not talking about total government waste, unnecessary programs, bloated agencies, or interest on the national debt. This estimate is specifically FRAUD affecting federal programs and spending. At the upper end, that works out to more than $1.4 billion every single day.

This is the same government that tells you it desperately needs more revenue. Politicians argue over raising taxes, closing loopholes, increasing enforcement, and extracting another dollar from the productive economy while their own watchdog estimates that hundreds of billions could disappear annually through fraud. If a private corporation told its shareholders that somewhere between $233 billion and $521 billion was being lost every year and management could not narrow it down any further, the board would be thrown out.

In Washington, they simply raise the debt ceiling. The GAO’s estimate covers fiscal years 2018 through 2022 and represents an average annual loss. It includes fraud involving programs such as unemployment insurance, pandemic relief, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and other federal spending. The range is enormous precisely because the government does not even know the complete extent of the problem. Fraud is deliberately concealed, and agencies frequently lack the data and systems necessary to identify all of it.

Think about the scale. The federal government collected roughly $5 trillion in revenue during fiscal 2025. If fraud is occurring anywhere near the upper end of the GAO’s estimate, the equivalent of roughly 10% of an entire year’s federal revenue could be disappearing through fraudulent activity. Yet Washington behaves as though the problem is that Americans simply are not paying enough taxes. This is what happens when government becomes too large to manage.

Washington now spends trillions of dollars every year through an incomprehensible maze of agencies, grants, contractors, benefits, subsidies, emergency programs, healthcare payments, state transfers, and countless other channels. Nobody sitting in Congress can possibly understand where all of that money ultimately goes. Congress passes thousand-page spending packages that members barely have time to read, much less audit, and then acts surprised when criminals discover that government money is the easiest money in the world to steal.

The pandemic exposed the entire system. Washington panicked and threw money everywhere. The Small Business Administration’s inspector general estimated that more than $200 billion in potentially fraudulent COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program funds were disbursed. Other government estimates have differed depending upon methodology, but nobody disputes that pandemic programs became an extraordinary target for fraud.

Government was distributing enormous amounts of money at extraordinary speed while verification systems were overwhelmed. Criminals understood immediately what politicians never seem to understand: when you create trillions of dollars and distribute it through bureaucratic programs, somebody will figure out how to steal it. Then taxpayers are expected to replenish the account.

This is why government spending is never free. Every dollar Washington loses has to come from somewhere. It was taxed from somebody, borrowed from somebody, or ultimately financed through a monetary system that has repeatedly expanded to accommodate government debt. People create wealth. Government redistributes it.

And when government spends beyond the productive capacity of the economy, particularly when fiscal stimulus increases demand without creating equivalent supply, it can contribute to inflation. We saw precisely that dynamic during the pandemic. Washington injected enormous fiscal support into an economy where production and supply chains were simultaneously constrained. Too much demand chased too few goods, and consumers ultimately paid for it through higher prices.

Yet politicians continue to behave as though the only question is how much government should spend rather than whether the spending accomplishes anything. The fraud numbers should infuriate every taxpayer because Washington constantly argues over relatively tiny amounts compared with the scale of the losses identified by its own watchdog.

In every case the company knew first. By decades. In writing.

1924: the makers of leaded petrol lose five workers to lead madness in one plant. Their own scientist calls the product a gift of God. Lead stays in the tank until 2000, and takes a measured slice of IQ off every child born in the century.

1930s: the asbestos company's own doctors find the lung disease and the company settles the lawsuits quietly, with silence clauses, for 40 years.

1953: the tobacco companies meet in New York, read their own research, and set up an institute to manufacture doubt about it. It runs for 44 years.

1961: the chemical company finds its non-stick coating in the blood of its workers and the livers of its rats. It tells no one for 40 years. It is now in the blood of every person on earth.

1965: the sugar industry pays three Harvard men to blame fat. The paper runs in the top journal. The payment is found in a box in 2016.

1966: the maker of PCBs finds dead fish downstream of its plant and writes an internal memo recommending the company say nothing. It is 1977 before they are banned.

1990s: the makers of the opioid know the addiction rate from their own files and tell doctors it is under one percent.

2000s: the makers of a diabetes drug see the heart attacks in their own data and keep selling. 2010 before it is pulled.

The pattern is not a secret conspiracy. It is a filing cabinet. The company knew, the knowledge sat in a drawer, and the consensus outside the building was built on the brochure.

So when the brochure says a seed oil is heart healthy and the trans fat is gone and the formula is complete, ask the only question the last century has ever answered the same way.

What is in the drawer.

Houthis Tear Through Government Defenses in Taiz, Advancing on Four Fronts (Videos, Map)

Fighting intensified across Yemen’s southwestern province of Taiz on October 2 and 3, with the Houthis (Ansar Allah) reportedly advancing on four fronts as government forces launched strikes.

The reported Houthi gains stretched from the southern Taiz countryside to Same’ district, Jabal Habashi and the western outskirts of Taiz city, signaling a widening offensive across the province.

In southern Taiz, the Houthis reportedly took the heights of Jabal Rasan and Jabal Jardad, along with nearby villages including Rasan, Bani Mohammed, al-Za’azi and al-Kuwayrah. The reports also said the Houthis had captured Daba al-Dakhil and Jabal Ahem, while fighting continued around Asha and Samdan. Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces retained control of Mafraq al-Safiyah and the western Taiz-Aden road.

Further southeast, Houthi forces reportedly captured Hawrah and surrounding villages in Same’ district with the support of local tribes. Control of the area’s high ground reportedly gave the Houthis positions overlooking the al-Silu front and intensified pressure toward al-Turbah.

In Jabal Habashi, the Houthis also reportedly made gains after repelling an attack by a government-aligned armed faction. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Salem al-Khawlani, chief of staff of the Emergency Forces of Yemen’s Interior Ministry, was also killed on the al-Kadha front, according to the ministry and an October 2 report by Anadolu Agency.

The Houthis then reportedly expanded their positions in al-Zatan, Bani Bakari and Madhafah and captured al-Maqatin, Anaqib and al-Arari.

Near Taiz city, the Houthis reportedly took al-Han height, which overlooks the western approaches to the provincial capital and routes used by opposing forces.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni government announced on October 3 that its forces had carried out 71 operations against Houthi positions, military buildups and reinforcements across Taiz.

Col. Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili, a spokesman for the government forces, said the operations hit areas including Jabal Rasan, Jabal Jardad, Same’ and Bani Bakari.

A CULT DIGGING A $10 TRILLION DITCH

Once you dig into the “AI industry” it becomes clearer & clearer what it really is.

It is an extraction project.

It has already extracted the ENTIRE DIGITIZABLE OUTPUT OF HUMANITY. Our ideas. Our art. Our science. Our math.

Through a clever algorithm discovered in 2017, Jensen Huang and Peter Thiel’s protege Sam Altman figured out how to accelerate existing “generative AI” technology with GPUs. This was NOT an innovation in accuracy or “intelligence,” it was a way to process an old algorithm in parallel.

OpenAI was staffed in large part by “Effective Altruists”—a cult started based on the doomer science fiction of Eliezer Yudkowsky on the website LessWrong.

Peter Thiel was the initial funding for OpenAI, EA, and Yudkowsky.

OpenAI successfully convinced the market, and themselves in many cases, that they had birthed some new form of life. They just needed to make it BIGGER and it was destined to become “superintelligent.”

Based on Yudkowsky’s goofy ideas, AI was gradually anthropomorphized and deified—despite the fact that it was just software regurgitating the exhaust of human beings. The entire “alignment” movement is based on the presumption that chatbots deserve “moral standing.” It’s exhaustingly ignorant.

Eventually OpenAI employee Dario Amodei, a dedicated EA adherent, became concerned that OpenAI was not RELIGIOUS ENOUGH about AI being sentient, so he broke off to form Anthropic and named his chatbot after a person.

This false premise, that an algorithm was somehow producing “intelligence” was further amplified by training the output to sound as human, and addictive, as possible.

The combination of a kind of religious fervor inside, a deceptive product, and a flood of influence operations on the outside fueled a wild flow of speculative investment in both OpenAI and Anthropic—and especially into NVIDIA.

This eventually poisoned the entire technology sector which came to believe that the “race for AGI” was existential, so they committed TRILLIONS to achieving it. The data centers are all a function of a misunderstanding of what they are building.

Generative pre-trained transformers (GPT) are NEVER going to be intelligent, much less conscious. All they do is take our stolen stuff and sell it back to us. They do not experience. They do not do anything—unless you send a string of text for them to process.

Nevertheless, the entire financial industry, and now the federal government is pushing this dead-end project to engulf the nation in data centers and swallow the economy with “AI factories.”

It’s downright insanity. All of that capital expenditure is already junk. It can physically never make money. It’s built for GPUs which are the wrong substrate for AI.

Large language models are useful search engines for stuff we’ve already done. They are the compressed, digitized exhaust of humans with a clever language interface. That’s it.

There is no moat. There is no real innovation. There is just an accelerationist delusion and no adults in sight. Chatbots are a software feature, a commodity, that has metastasized into a cult digging a $10 TRILLION DITCH.

The reason this has gone so far is that rather than compete in a democratic capitalist system for the best technology product, this cabal of lunatics created an “internet alternate reality” that could “unilaterally change the world.”

The current AI industry is the largest extraction project in history. It is strip mining humanity and selling it back to us as slop.

“If you’re evil, you’re not bad, and maybe that means you’re kind of good.”

—Peter Thiel
