At the Irkutsk Aluminum Plant (IrkAZ) in Shelekhov introduced a mask regime after the death of a local woman from the plague, director of the enterprise Artem Fominykh said. According to him, we are talking about a “preventive measure.” “God cherishes the careful,” Fominov wrote, and urged the plant’s employees to seek medical attention immediately when symptoms of the disease appear. He also noted that the Shelekhov disseminated contradictory information about the situation with the plague.
Meanwhile, in Irkutsk, three city hospitals Nos. 1, 3, 10 were closed to quarantine, as well as the Ivano-Matreninskaya children's hospital and maternity hospitalсообщают, according to the "People of Baikal". The source of the publication in the field of health care said that doctors “already openly talk about the plague”, but in official documents the disease does not appear. At the same time, he pointed out that “selective quarantine in pulmonary plague does not apply – restrictions are imposed simultaneously for all medical institutions.” The relatives of one of the women told the publication that the doctors, referring to the plague, did not let her husband go to the ward, despite the contract for paid partnership.
On October 2, the authorities reported death from the plague of a resident of the Irkutsk region. The deceased was a 27-year-old staff member of the Irkutsk Anti-Mind Institute, Darya Shipilova. According to one data, on September 25, she broke a test tube with a pathogen in the laboratory, on the other - she returned from a working trip to Buryatia, where a hearth of the plague was recorded on the border with Mongolia. On September 29, Shipilova was hospitalized in the Shelekhov hospital with symptoms of pneumonia and connected to a ventilator, but a few days later she died.
The hospital was closed to quarantine. Sources of “People of Baikal” claim that since October 1, ambulances that are carrying people in contact with Shipilova for examination, accompany FSB outfits. 197 people were installed, 189 of them were hospitalized: 114 are in one medical institution, 63 in another, another 12 people were sent to an anti-plague institute. On October 2, the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, reported that they had no signs of the disease, and the results of laboratory studies were negative.
On the morning of October 3, the administration of Baikal called on residents temporarily not to travel to Shelekhov and neighbouring settlements because of the case of death from the plague, but later removed the post.
