Science takes a backseat as Trump ignores NASA data to insist the planet is cooling down

Oct 3rd, 2026, 2:45 pm

President Donald Trump dismissed concerns about global warming during a speech at a Texas truck factory on Thursday, telling the crowd the planet has actually gotten cooler.

In videos circulated on social media, Trump urged voters not to back Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections and referred to their climate agenda as the “green new scam.”

“Remember, we’re supposed to all be dead by now, 12 years. In 12 years, who was that? AOC said that, right? ‘In 12 years, you’ll all be dead because of global warming.’

Well, that didn’t work out because the planet got cooler,” Trump said. He added, “In fact, you know, the ice that was melting, it’s right now just set a record. It’s the biggest ice cube that’s ever been in the history of the world.”

Trump also took aim at the terminology itself, arguing that Democrats had moved away from the phrase “global warming.”

He stated, “So they changed it from global warming to climate change…Climate change: if it gets hot, cold, if it rains, if it snows, nobody knows the difference. It’s climate change. No, it’s a scam.”

He also accused Democrats of running a “scam” against data centers, suggesting their opposition was meant to keep his administration from succeeding.

He said, “They’re doing the scam with data centers, by the way. That’s the new thing, because they want us to be unsuccessful. These things are making a fortune.”

What NASA’s climate data actually shows

Trump has dismissed climate change on other occasions as well, but data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) tells a different story.

NASA says the evidence that Earth is warming at an unprecedented rate is unequivocal, and it identifies human activity as the main driver.

According to NASA, atmospheric carbon dioxide now sits at 428 parts per million, methane has climbed to 1,939 parts per billion, and global temperatures are 1.19 degrees Celsius above the 1951 to 1980 average.

Some indicators are moving downward instead, and in this case that signals a warming planet rather than an improving one.

Ice is the clearest example. NASA’s data shows Earth’s ice sheets losing roughly 391 billion metric tons of mass per year, the opposite of the record-setting ice Trump described.

NASA lists melting ice sheets, shrinking sea ice, and rising sea levels among the effects of global warming that are already underway.

Trump’s remarks on data centers come amid his administration’s push for more artificial intelligence development.

Blue Origin unveils huge 'Power Tower' to boost solar electricity on the moon

October 3, 2026

"Our Power Tower is a 20-meter-tall, vertically deployed solar array system designed to provide more than 10 kilowatts of power for Moon Base operations at the lunar south pole."

Blue Origin just unveiled its "Power Tower," which is designed to provide solar electricity for an upcoming base on the moon.

The space company, which was founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, posted an animation of the tower on X on Sept. 25, showing the hardware landing on the moon and then deploying above the lunar surface.

"Our Power Tower is a 20-meter-tall, vertically deployed solar array system designed to provide more than 10 kilowatts of power for Moon Base operations at the lunar south pole," Blue Origin wrote in the post.

The X post also links to a YouTube video, which shows a real deployment test that occurred here on Earth on July 22, 2026.

From the low vantage point of the camera, you can see a pole extending up from the base, before arms branch out from the center to deploy solar arrays that fold down.

"Its modular architecture will support future surface networks, extending power beyond the lander to the assets that need it most," reads the Blue Origin post.

The power tower appears to be an evolution of an earlier technology called Lunar Array Mast and Power System (LAMPS), which was developed by Honeybee Robotics, a Blue Origin subsidiary, and tested at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston in 2024.

Honeybee Robotics is one of the companies that have been working under NASA's Vertical Solar Array Technology (VSAT) project, which has been developing solar arrays to create the necessary power for a sustained presence on the moon in the future.

The X post mentions that the power tower will be used for operations at the lunar south pole. Blue Origin likely envisions the solar tower as part of NASA's planned moon base, which the agency aims to build in the area via its Artemis program.

NASA's Moon Base project is currently in its first phase, which lasts until 2029. The current timeline has the moon base up and running by 2032.

World Space Week 2026 kicks off today! A look at its history and significance as the world celebrates ‘Rocket Revolution’

Ocotber 4, 2026

This annual event which runs till October 10 focuses on educating people on space via various programmes held across the world.

The World Space Week is kicking off today (October 4) to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology that have enhanced our quality of life.

This annual event which runs till October 10 focuses on space education and outreach events organized around the world by space agencies, schools, aerospace companies and astronomy clubs while commemorating two major events that revolutionized space exploration.

Here’s all you need to know about this event and why it’s celebrated.

History and significance of World Space Week

The World Space Week starts on October 4 every year to commemorate the launch of world’s first human-made satellite Sputnik 1 in 1957.

This satellite was a metal sphere the size of a beach ball that was launched by the Soviet Union, and it marked the dawn of the space age for humanity.

October 10, on the other hand, observes the enforcement of the Outer Space Treaty (in 1967) which provides the basic framework on international space law and governs how countries will carry out activities in outer space including the Moon and other celestial bodies.

On December 6, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed World Space Week by resolution 54/68 and declared that the event will be celebrated every year from October 4 to 10.

The United Nations has been involved in space activities since the very beginning and today, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is responsible for promoting international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space.

Theme of World Space Week 2026

The theme of World Space Week this year is ‘Rocket Revolution’ to highlight the rapid growth of rocket launches and the transformation they've brought about by making space accessible.

“Once limited to a small number of government programs, access to space is now expanding through commercial launch providers, reusable rockets, university teams, startups, and new national space actors,” the United Nations said in a statement.

“This shift is changing who can reach space, how often launches happen, and what space is used for.”

The theme for each year is jointly selected by the World Space Week Association Board of Directors and the UNOOSA and it is uniform globally to increase the impact of the event.

Hundreds of event are organised during the space week and the common theme guides organizers on the contents of their programmes.

Russia strikes data center and logistics hub in Ukraine – MOD

4 Oct, 2026 15:44 | Updated 4 Oct, 2026 16:45

Moscow says its forces also struck military targets across the country, including supply ships off Odessa, while air defenses downed more than 1,200 drones

The Russian military has struck a data center and a logistics hub in Ukraine, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said on Sunday.

The ministry said that Geran drones targeted a Nova Poshta logistics center in Chernomorsk and a data center in Odessa. Footage released by the MOD shows direct hits on both facilities.

Russia has increasingly targeted Ukrainian data centers in recent strikes, with internet and mobile providers reporting damage and connectivity disruptions.

Additionally, Russian forces struck two dry-cargo vessels carrying military supplies to the port of Odessa, hit a drone command post, destroyed an air-surveillance radar, and struck military-used transport infrastructure, weapons depots, drone storage sites, and positions housing Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries across 147 locations. It later added that its forces struck Kiev’s Severny road bridge across the Dnieper, which it said was used to move troops and military cargo.

The ministry also reported that its air defenses downed four guided bombs, three US-made HIMARS rockets, and 1,222 fixed-wing drones over the past 24 hours.

The ministry further said Russian forces tightened an encirclement in northeastern Kharkov Region and advanced elsewhere, including in northern and central Dobropolye.

Both Kiev and Moscow have ramped up long-range strikes in recent weeks following Ukraine’s botched “pressure campaign,” which saw Kiev intensify drone attacks on Russian civilian and energy infrastructure amid battlefield setbacks.

The attacks hit energy facilities, civilian warehouses and logistics hubs, residential buildings, and resort areas, as well as polling stations during last month’s parliamentary elections.

Russia has retaliated by sharply expanding strikes on Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities, shipping, and key ports handling military-related imports.

The campaign has severely disrupted Ukrainian Black Sea shipping and logistics. Moscow maintains that it targets only infrastructure supporting Ukraine’s war effort.

President Vladimir Putin recently warned that Ukraine faces a “catastrophic scenario” after “opening Pandora’s box” by attacking Russian economic and civilian infrastructure, which ultimately failed to alter the course of the conflict.

Putin also warned that with its “provocative actions,” Kiev was only hindering a peaceful settlement rather than bringing one closer.

Despite the mounting toll, Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky vowed on Saturday to further intensify strikes on Russian oil facilities. The Russian Defense Ministry responded on Sunday by pledging to step up its own campaign.

The ministry said Ukrainians “should blame only the head of the Kiev regime” for any further escalation, adding that his threats meant he “bears full personal and political responsibility for it.”

Drones Attack Khanskaya Military Airbase in Russia’s Adygea Region

October 4, 2026 10:49

Strike drones attacked the Khanskaya military airbase in Russia’s Republic of Adygea during the night of October 4, 2026.

Footage published by the Exilenova+ outlet appears to show the attack.

The military airbase is located about 6 km northwest of Maykop and 3 km east of the village of Khanskaya.

Reports of a drone threat began coming in at 1:42 a.m. and continued until 5:34 a.m.

During this time, Russian monitoring channels reported detecting drones and active air defense operations in the region and around the airbase.

NASA FIRMS data from geostationary satellites also confirmed a fire in the area of the military airbase.

Russian military aviation currently uses the airbase. It is located at coordinates 44°40′47″N, 40°02′00″E. The site is approximately 500 km from Ukrainian-controlled territory.

Historically, the airbase hosted military aviation training units, including the 761st Training Aviation Regiment. After the regiment was disbanded in 2009, the 272nd Training Aviation Base was established.

Military Unit 55661 is part of the A. K. Serov Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots.

Despite the presence of training aviation units, the airbase has previously been targeted by Ukrainian strikes.

On October 10, 2024, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Su-34, Su-27, and Su-35 aircraft were based at the airfield and were being used by Russian aviation in the war against Ukraine.

Militarnyi previously reported that drones attacked the airbase on December 25, 2025. Another attack took place on December 29 of the same year.

Bulgarian Navy, Air Force locate ship abandoned and adrift after drone hit

October 4, 2026

Bulgarian Air Force and Navy personnel completed on October 4 a reconnaissance and localisation task of a cargo ship abandoned and adrift in the waters of the Black Sea after a drone hit, the Defence Ministry said. History

From 11.30am to 1.10pm, Air Force crews with two Cougar helicopters, together with specialists from the Navy, carried out a task to search for and locate the drifting vessel Emil, which was found 40 nautical miles east of Cape Shabla.

After a drone strike in the Odesa region on August 5, which was followed by a fire and failure of the technical systems, the vessel was left without the possibility of maneuvering and was abandoned by the crew.

Since then, the ship has been drifting in the exclusive economic zone of Romania, and under the influence of sea currents, it is moving southward towards the exclusive economic zone of Bulgaria, the Defence Ministry said.

The Bulgarian Navy has issued a notice to mariners about a ship not under control and without a crew in the specified area.

The vessel continues to be monitored by the competent institutions, who remain ready to take the necessary actions should the situation change, the ministry said.

Medvedev warns blocking Russian satellites could spark 'space war'

Sun, October 4, 2026 at 7:03 AM PDT

Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev warned on Sunday of a "full-blown space war" amid Ukrainian calls to block Russia's new Rassvet satellite internet service.

Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, threatened retaliation if attempts were made to disrupt the network.

Writing on Telegram, he said he hoped the United States understood the risks, warning that otherwise satellites belonging to the rival Starlink system could fall from orbit "like ornaments from a dried-up Christmas tree."

Medvedev called for countries to show consideration for one another in what he described as the "very cramped" environment of space.

Russia launched satellites for its Rassvet system into an orbit around 800 kilometres above Earth in March and July.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that Rassvet, whose name means "dawn" or "sunrise," is technically on a par with Starlink, the private satellite internet service operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX.

The Russian high-speed internet network is due to begin operations next year.

Ukraine calls for Rassvet to be blocked

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on US President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese competitors to Starlink.

In late August, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also urged the International Telecommunication Union, which is the UN agency for telecommunications, to exclude Ukrainian territory in particular from coverage by Rassvet satellites.

4 civilians killed in RSF drone strikes in Sudan’s South Kordofan: Medical group

Update: 04 October 2026

Fatalities reported in attacks targeting city of Dilling, says Sudan Doctors Network

Four civilians, including a woman and a child, were killed in drone strikes by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of Dilling in Sudan's South Kordofan state, a local medical group said Sunday.

In a statement, the Sudan Doctors Network said the attacks targeted residential areas in the city, calling on the UN and international humanitarian orgnanizations to hold those responsible accountable.

The RSF did not immediately comment on the report. However, Sudanese authorities and humani rights group have repeatedly accused the group of targeting civilians, a charge denied by the RSF.

The three states of the Kordofan region — North, West and South Kordofan — have witnessed clashes between the army and the RSF since October, 2025.

On Aug. 24, the UN said that 1,100 civilians had been killed in drone attacks in Sudan between January and June of this year.

Sudan has been engulfed in a war between the army and the RSF since April 2023, stemming from disputes over the integration of the paramilitary force into the regular military.

The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced around 13 million, according to UN and international estimates.

'The Night of the UFOs': Remembering the Oct. 4, 1967, skies over Nova Scotia

Oct 04, 2026 1:00 AM PDT | Last Updated: 10 hours ago

Besides Shag Harbour, sightings were reported in Dartmouth, Sambro, Wedgeport and elsewhere

Chris Styles was just 12 years old on a clear night when he looked out his bedroom window and spotted a strange light moving along the shoreline a few blocks from his house.

He grabbed his grandfather's binoculars to get a better look and then ran out of the house, much to his dad's dismay, down to the water's edge.

"There's this huge sphere and it was a very dull orange, and it was glowing just like a poker in a fireplace," said Styles about what he saw on Oct. 4, 1967, around 10 p.m. AT.

While that date is best known for a UFO sighting in Shag Harbour in southwestern Nova Scotia, Styles was in Dartmouth, N.S.

Primarily between the Halifax area and southwestern Nova Scotia, people recorded seeing things in the sky that night, which has led ufologists to call it "The Night of the UFOs."

"If you were outside that … night and you looked up, and for some hours afterwards, you would have seen something," said Styles. "It was a clear night. People were seeing the faintest stars without binoculars."

Styles has written or co-written three books about UFO sightings, including Impact to Contact: The Shag Harbour Incident.

He said coverage of Shag Harbour meant other sightings fell out of the press, such as what the crew of the MV Nickerson saw in the waters off Sambro.

Around 9 p.m., Capt. Leo Mersey said he spotted an object with three flashing red lights. The object, which showed up on radar, was about 25 kilometres away.

The man who phoned in Canada's most famous UFO sighting became the face of the mystery

"It was very clear that night and we could see the lights of Halifax," Mersey said in a statement he filed with the RCMP.

The radar also showed three objects about 10 kilometres away, but he could not see them.

Around 11 p.m., the object he could see went into the air, but by then had only one red flashing light.

"I had never seen anything like that before but it sounds like the thing they are looking for down off Shelburne or Barrington Passage," Mersey said in the statement, which was taken Oct. 7, 1967.

The RCMP statement, taken by a corporal with the Lunenburg detachment, noted: "Capt. Mersey is considered to be a reliable type individual and bears a good reputation in his community."

But Shag Harbour has long remained the focus, said Styles, in part because of the large witness pool, what authorities said at the time, and the subsequent paper trail left behind.

In Shag Harbour, an object with flashing lights crashed into the waters off the tiny fishing village.

Besides the many eyewitnesses, adding credence to the account was that a responding RCMP officer, Const. Ron O'Brien, described seeing a light from the object floating about 800 metres offshore.

"It was being carried out to sea by the tide and disappeared before we could get a boat to it," he told the Chronicle-Herald in an Oct. 7, 1967, article.

Styles said RCMP officers commandeered two fishing boats to see what was in the water and if there were any survivors, assuming a plane had crashed. They were joined on the boats by local fishermen and other residents.

He said depending on who you talk to, the object either disappeared or submerged, but there was a yellow foam on the water that some say smelled of sulphur.

On Friday, Oct. 6, a naval diving team was brought in, and seven divers searched through the weekend, but reported finding nothing.

The investigation reached the highest levels of National Defence.

An Oct. 6, 1967, memo by Col. W.W. Turner, the director of operations at National Defence headquarters, noted:

"The Rescue Co-ordination Centre conducted [a] preliminary investigation and discounted the possibilities that the sighting was produced by an aircraft, flares, floats, or any other known objects."

His son, John Turner, told CBC News his father often mentioned to the family that he received reports of alleged UFO sightings.

"Many were easily discounted as photos of a Frisbee or a hubcap, but he often said others simply could not be explained," Turner wrote by email.

Styles wasn't the only person to see something in Dartmouth on Oct. 4, according to the Chronicle-Herald on Oct. 7, 1967.

The newspaper reported that a woman on her way home from work saw a bright, round object in the sky moving from the Halifax-Dartmouth ferry terminal.

"She described it as brighter, more vivid than a star, with an orange hue like a halo around the circumference," the reporter wrote.

The woman looked at it through binoculars when she got home and saw it was not a star.

The newspaper checked with CFB Shearwater's control tower to see if anything was on the radar during the window the woman described.

Control tower personnel said no one was monitoring the radar at the time.

CIA Tracked Russian UFO Retrieval

October 4, 2026

A race between the U.S. and Russia to reverse engineer alien technology has been going on for decades

Some military analysts contend that the real “arms race” among world powers is not based on breakthroughs in Earthly science, but instead fueled by a race to see which of them can backward engineer technology they retrieved from UFO crashes.

CIA Tracks Russian UFO Retrieval

A CIA briefing document released by the agency dated Nov. 22, 1989, includes an extremely detailed account of wreckage from a UFO that was retrieved and analyzed by a team of Russian scientists. The minute detail of the event is concise and shockingly candid.

The scientists’ conclusions and descriptions of the “outer-worldly material” put me in mind of the many Roswell witnesses, who said they too retrieved wreckage from a crashed UFO.

There have been murmurs and rumors about the Russians and other United States’ adversaries feverishly working on “alien” technology they managed to get their hands on to backward engineer it into superior weaponry.

But this is the first time I have read a confirmation about such a retrieval occurring in Russia.

Before perusing the documents, you can view this thorough little-known video of the incident courtesy of Eyes on Cinema and Discovery Science (the interviews appear to have taken place soon after the Soviet Union’s collapse. Such openness in Russia no longer exists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye3wN2erAEc

Documents and More:

In referring to an issue of the paper published in July 1988 that included a report on “an amazing event that took place on Hill 611 near the village of Angarsk in Primorskiy Kray,” the article noted that the event is still under investigation. "

Many observers saw a flying sphere crash into one of the hill’s twin peaks, and physicists and other scientists from the Siberian Division of the USSR Academy of Sciences are still studying the “fine mesh,” “small spherical objects,” and “pieces of glass” that are considered to be small remnants left behind by the sphere. According to the article, the alleged spacecraft was nearly obliterated in the crash, but there appears to be enough material at the site for the scientists — a mixture of UFO “enthusiasts” and skeptics to eventually “penetrate this mystery.”

Foreign Press Note * Nov. 22, 1989

In studying the site, scientist A. Makeyev reported finding gold, silver, nickel, alpha-titanium, molybdenum, and compounds of beryllium.

One of the skeptical physicists from Tomsk has hypothesized that the so-called sphere could have been some kind of a “plasmoid,” formed by the “interaction of geophysical force fields,” which captured the elements found by Makeyev from the atmosphere on its trajectory toward disintegration on the hilltop. Other researchers have generally rejected this explanation since the amounts of various types of metals found at the site would imply, according to this “plasmoid” theory, that the concentration of metals in the atmosphere should exceed the present level by a factor of 4,000.

Copies of the Documents:

Some scientists have concluded that the object that crashed into Hill 611 was an extraterrestrial space vehicle constructed by highly intelligent beings.

Doctor of Chemical Sciences V. Vysotskiy stated that without a doubt, this is evidence of high technology, and it is not anything of natural or terrestrial origin.

He cited the fact that the remnants of fine mesh included bits of thin threads with a diameter of only 17 microns and that these threads, in turn, were composed of even thinner strands twisted into braids.

Extremely thin gold wires were discovered intertwined in the finest threads, evidence of an intricate technology beyond the present capabilities of terrestrial science, according to Vysotskiy.

*The documents in my article include sensitive information obtained by a CIA news clipping service it used at the time to keep close tabs on what was happening inside countries such as Russia.

The clipping service sent the CIA stories the agency would be interested in, and the powers-that-be at the CIA then perused and distributed them as in-house documents.

Many of the stories were from small publications inside the Soviet Union, as this one was.

Remember: This was years before the Internet and before such publications had any way to be seen by the world at large.

Did Australia Attend AARO’s Secret 2025 UAP Workshop?

October 4, 2026

Newly released records hint at “Australian Government” involvement in the AARO-sponsored invite-only UAP data summit in August 2025…and an official response only deepens the mystery.

For years, the Australian Department of Defence has maintained a strict public persona regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP): Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Through official statements, parliamentary responses, and media brush-offs, those in positions of leadership in Defences have consistently assured the public that Australia does not track, investigate, or hold any institutional interest in UAP.

However, a newly declassified cache of documents tells a very different story. Behind closed doors, the Australian Government appears to be actively continuing its engagement with its US ally and Five Eyes partner on the UAP issue.

On 14 September 2026, the US Department of War issued a final response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by John Greenewald of The Black Vault.

The request, designated case number 26-F-1773 (available for download via The Black Vault), targeted records surrounding a highly private, invite-only UAP workshop held in early August 2025.

Sponsored by the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and hosted by Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI) in Vienna, Virginia, the workshop was designed to tackle the complex challenges of UAP data collection, standardisation, and artificial intelligence integration.

The Pentagon identified 89 responsive pages, withholding 19 entirely under Exemption (b)(5) to protect deliberative decision-making processes. But what survived the redactor’s pen in the file is explosive.

Buried on page 39, nestled within an institutional roster that includes Harvard University, the RAND Corporation, and Uruguay’s official UAP commission, is an explicit entry for the “Australian Government”.

The Bureaucratic Runaround

To get to the bottom of this, I reached out to the Australian Defence Media team, asking for clarification on which specific branch attended and what the primary objective of their participation was: I received absolutely nothing in response. What a shocker.

Not resting on those laurels, I put the question to our friends across the pond. I asked a US Department of War official about the Australian Government’s participation in AARO’s August 2025 UAP Workshop.

The response I received on 3 October 2026 was a masterclass in bureaucratic deflection:

“We refer you to the government of Australia to comment on the activities of their personnel.”

While it is a classic runaround, it is also a tacit confirmation. They did not deny Australian attendance; they simply passed the buck back to a government that refuses to answer the mail.

Crucially, this is not an isolated incident. This is now the second official engagement we know Australia has participated in. Australia previously begrudgingly admitted that it attended AARO’s Five Eyes Inaugural UAP Caucus Working Group meeting back in May 2023 (refer article below):

So Who Attended from Australia?

If the Australian Government was on the guest list, who actually walked through the doors of AUI headquarters on 5 August 2025?

We know the workshop was unclassified and heavily focused on the academic and scientific hurdles of UAP research. The agenda centred on standardising metadata, natural language processing, deploying AI for pattern recognition, and integrating multi-domain sensor networks. Because of this strict scientific and systems-engineering focus, it is highly unlikely that a representative from the Defence Intelligence Organisation (DIO) was the primary attendee…even though a representative from the DIO attended AARO’s Five Eyes briefing at the Pentagon back in May 2023.

Instead, all signs point to the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), whose role is stated on their website as follows:

DSTG brings together interdisciplinary expertise from across Australia and around the world to address Defence and national security challenges.

Our role is to work closely with the Australian science, technology and innovation eco-system to deliver scientific advice and solutions that provide capability enhancement for Defence and the national security community.

According to the September 2024 Senate Estimates brief, the current Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Stephen Chappell, and the Chief Defence Scientist, Professor Tanya Monro, are listed to lead on discussions and DSTG activities related to UAP.

The DSTG provides direct support to the ADF to identify and classify objects detected by sensing technology.

The absurdity of this public posture is laid bare in parliamentary records. Despite the September 2024 brief asserting Professor Monro’s leadership on UAP, Defence explicitly denied any knowledge of AARO’s primary UAP sensor architecture just weeks later in response to Question on Notice no. 844 , answered on 19 December 2024. Defence stated: “The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) are not performing UAP research, and therefore not collaborating with the US Department of Defense on this topic. DSTG have not been briefed on the alleged AARO Gremlin system.”

The use of the word “alleged” to describe a well-documented Pentagon sensor suite betrays a staggering level of either institutional ignorance or deliberate obfuscation.

If DSTG was entirely unaware of AARO’s flagship technology in late 2024, sending their top science attaché to an AARO data integration workshop in August 2025 represents a rapid and highly clandestine pivot.

However, Professor Monro was not likely to fly to Washington for a working-level data integration workshop. The most logical asset to send would be a Washington-based Defence Attaché.

Enter Darren J. Sutton.

Between May 2023 and October 2025, Sutton served as the Minister-Counsellor for the DSTG based at the Australian Embassy in Washington, DC.

As the top defence science liaison in the US, he acted as the direct representative for Professor Monro, facilitating joint initiatives between Australia and the Pentagon’s vast research ecosystem.

Sutton is a defence science leader with over 35 years of experience. His portfolio includes deep involvement in US-Australia collaborations focused on artificial intelligence, autonomous uncrewed systems, and sensing capabilities.

Functionally, he is the exact right asset for Australia to send to an event focused on building a centralised UAP data machine. While another possibility is Michael Docking - who currently holds the Minister-Counsellor role - the August 2025 timeline aligns perfectly with Sutton’s tenure.

Further supporting this theory is the logistical matrix found on page 41 of the FOIA release. The matrix maps attendee requirements for AUI-provided hotel accommodations.

A Washington-based embassy attaché wouldn’t require a hotel in Vienna, Virginia, easily explaining how an Australian representative could seamlessly integrate into the daily sessions without generating a large logistical footprint.

The Global Picture: Uruguay and the SCU

The Australian Government wasn’t the only international player at the table. The records confirm that AARO was actively engaging CRIDOVNI, Uruguay’s official commission for investigating UAP.

AARO went to great lengths to woo the Uruguayan delegates, arranging a private meeting at the Pentagon on August 4, reciprocal mission briefings, a private Pentagon tour, and a lunch at the Pentagon Navy Executive Dining Facility with AARO Director, Jon Kosloski and Chief Technology Officer, Josh Reiter.

AARO provided a specific list of topics they wished to discuss with CRIDOVNI, including their analytical methods, how they analyse narrative data for cases with little technical backing, and their scientific partnerships across South America.

AARO even admitted they were already planning a “follow-on data workshop in early 2026” and asked for help networking with other South American UAP organisations.

The workshop itself featured heavy hitters from the civilian research world. Robert Powell of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) co-delivered the keynote address.

The SCU’s presentation material highlighted the fragmented state of current UAP databases and the dire need for standardised investigator training and natural language processing to triage the noise.

Interestingly, the SCU presentation explicitly cited historical UAP archives maintained by Australia and New Zealand, demonstrating that Australian military records are recognised internationally as essential datasets.

The Williamtown Hypocrisy

The contrast between Australia’s private actions in Washington and its public posture at home is frankly embarrassing.

While a DSTG representative was likely sitting in a room in Virginia discussing how to use machine learning to synthesise anomalous sensor data and triage UAP reports, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) was dealing with a massive wave of unidentified drone incursions back home.

Between 11-13 July 2026, multiple incursions of unidentified objects - described officially as “drones” - breached the restricted airspace over RAAF Base Williamtown, Australia’s premier fighter base housing our F-35s:

The official mitigating strategy handed down to the military personnel on base?

Close your window blinds.

Just days ago, on 2 October 2026, DefenseScoop reported that US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth issued a forceful new directive aimed at rapidly accelerating the deployment of counter-drone technologies.

In a decisive memorandum, Hegseth declared that “protection against the threat of drones will not be delayed by self-imposed restrictions,” ordering the Pentagon to slash bureaucratic red tape and compress operational approval timelines from months to mere days.

The US military’s joint counter-drone task force, JIATF-401, echoed this exact urgency, stating they “will not accept a slow-moving bureaucracy when faced with a fast-moving threat”.

This aggressive American posture stands in blistering contrast to the Australian response. While the Pentagon is fundamentally overhauling its acquisition pathways to defeat the drone threat immediately, the RAAF is literally shutting the curtains.

The implications for Australia are severe: it highlights a dangerous domestic complacency and exposes a widening capability gap between the ADF and our primary security ally.

If Australia intends to maintain its standing within the AUKUS framework and interoperate seamlessly with US forces, Canberra cannot afford to let procedural sluggishness dictate its response to incursions over sensitive installations.

We must adopt the same urgency Hegseth is demanding in Washington, or risk becoming a highly vulnerable link in the allied defence chain.

What makes Australia’s silence even more indefensible is that AARO’s portfolio is no longer confined strictly to the exotic.

Under the fiscal 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), AARO is explicitly required to liaise and team up with the Pentagon’s new counter-drone (C-UAS) task force.

Alongside its core UAP mission, the office is actively assisting the US Department of War in formulating detection, identification, and mitigation strategies for hostile or unauthorised drone incursions across sensitive military airspace.

AARO is building the sensor architectures, sensor-fusion algorithms, and rapid-triage pipelines intended to separate benign clutter and foreign surveillance drones from true anomalous craft.

If Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) is quietly liaising with AARO, it strongly suggests Canberra recognises that the Pentagon’s anomaly-resolution framework - now legally intertwined with America’s counter-drone mission - holds the keys to solving our own domestic drone dilemma. Yet rather than leveraging this partnership openly to harden our bases and reform outmoded engagement protocols, Defence leaders continue to bury their heads in the sand - leaving frontline personnel vulnerable while the critical technical solutions remain trapped behind closed doors.

If the RAAF cannot effectively mitigate the risks of known drone technologies, what hope do they have against true UAP? It is a staggering dereliction of duty, and it perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of the current paradigm.

Defence leaders tell base personnel to shut their blinds to avoid the problem, while simultaneously sending attachés to secret Pentagon workshops to learn how to track it.

Conclusion

John Greenewald’s FOIA release is a vital piece of the puzzle. It proves that despite the blanket denials, the Australian Government is highly engaged in the ongoing international effort to solve the UAP mystery.

It is time for the Australian public, and our elected representatives, to demand accountability. Defence Minister Richard Marles and the Chief of the Defence Force need to answer basic questions:

Which department authorised attendance at AARO’s August 2025 workshop?

What briefings were provided back to Canberra?

And why is this critical national security collaboration remaining entirely undisclosed to the public?

It’s clear the Australian Government is actively looking for the truth…they just don’t want us to know.

A PROJECT CAMELOT TV NETWORK LIVE BROADCAST

Project BlueBeam as the fake alien invasion is known, has been on the books as a strong possibility for as many years as I have been researching this sector (at least 20) and is now being reviewed by top military according to Randy and another source, Simon Parkes.

Parkes states that it is now supposedly the “good guys” on the Trump/Navy side of the spectrum who are now considering this alternative to usher in the space age and wake up humanity whereas it used to be a focus of the dark side.

UPDATE: AS OF TODAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026 THE U.S. MILITARY has plans to launch Project Blue Beam according to the FARSIGHT PRIME REMOTE VIEWERS (see their video) Prediction by Farsight RV —Attack on US upcoming maybe in next few weeks
