The National Weather Service on Sunday was still unable to disseminate data from five radar sites near the Gulf Coast, including two in Alabama.

The radars themselves were working, and the weather service said its forecasters can see data from the Mobile radar internally. But the general public cannot.

Some National Weather Weather Radio locations were also affected.

It was an issue confined to south Alabama. Radars in central and north Alabama were not affected.

Technicians continued to work to solve the problem as of Sunday afternoon. The weather service said the techs had isolated the issue but had not been able to fix it just yet.

The weather service said techs had given a restoration time of 11 p.m. Sunday as of the latest update.

Forecasters were hoping that restoration would come sooner but added that “we’ll update as soon as we know something.”

However, forecasters reiterated that they can still see radar data from the Mobile site internally.

The weather service has been dealing with the issue since Saturday.

As of Sunday morning the radars affected were located in Mobile (KMOB); Eglin Air Force Base (KEVX) in the Florida Panhandle; Tallahassee, Fla. (KTLH), Fort Rucker (KEOX) in southern Alabama and Moody Air Force Base (KVAX) in south Georgia. (A radar site in Louisiana that had been listed as offline was shown as back online as of Sunday morning.)

Local meteorologists were also alerting the public about the outages:
