Denmark's ID register spills more people's details than the country has residents

Abuse of private firm's access exposed 8.8M records, including those of people who had died or moved abroad

An unauthorized party abused a private Danish company's legitimate access to the country's Central Population Register (CPR), exposing names, addresses, identification numbers, and other personal information about approximately 8.8 million people.

The CPR administration said in a statement [PDF] that it became aware on October 2 of irregular activity during September and established the scale of the breach over the weekend.

In a TV interview last night, digitization minister Christina Egelund said it was too soon to say whether the country would issue all-new CPR numbers, one of the solutions proposed following the breach.

Danish cybersecurity specialist Jan Kaastrup told TV 2 that treating CPR numbers as secrets was a "broken" approach and argued that a number alone should not be accepted as proof of identity. "We live in a digitalized society, and therefore we should have much better identification systems," he said.

Egelund described the company whose access was abused as "small." Private businesses can obtain CPR data under section 38(1) of the Danish Civil Registration System Act, subject to restrictions set out in the ministry's access terms [PDF]. Eligible recipients include companies, foundations, other legal entities, and individuals conducting business.

However, access concerns a defined group of people identified individually in advance, and recipients must be legally entitled to process the information under the GDPR and Danish data protection law. The Register asked the ministry why such broad access was given.

CPR numbers underpin access to public services and many everyday transactions in Denmark, which has a population of around 6 million people. The database includes the information of over 55,000 people living in Greenland who also use CPR numbers for healthcare, tax services, and banking. The ministry said the register contains approximately 11 million records, including people who have died or moved abroad, which explains why the affected total exceeds Denmark's current population.

The ministry also noted that names and addresses of persons who chose to register with name and address protection were not exposed.

The CPR administration blocked the unnamed company's access and said it was working with specialists and relevant authorities to establish what happened. It has notified the Danish Data Protection Agency, and police are investigating.

Nurse: Stillbirths Exploded After COVID Shots Hit Maternity Wards

A total of 22 stillborn babies in 30 days against a baseline of four a year…

A California labor-and-delivery nurse says her Fresno hospital went from a handful of stillbirths a year to more than 20 in a single month once COVID shots were pushed on pregnant women, then answered the pile-up with an email on how to handle the dead.

The same product is now sitting in a federal file parents were told not to worry about. An analysis of the National Health Interview Survey, published yesterday, finds COVID-vaccinated children had higher odds of autism, ADHD, anxiety and special-education use than children who never received the shot, and the authors say the shots in children should stop.

Michelle Spencer has worked the antepartum, postpartum and labor-and-delivery floor at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno since 2017. In interviews that Children's Health Defense aired, she described the unit before the pregnancy rollout as a place that saw about four stillbirths a year. After the shots started going into pregnant women, she said, it became four a week, and it did not stop.

A total of 22 stillborn babies in 30 days against a baseline of four a year is more than the previous five years combined, on the order of a 6,500 percent jump in a single month. Spencer's July 30, 2025 complaint in Fresno County Superior Court used a baseline of one fetal death a month before spring 2021 and about 20 a month after, and calls the rise a statistically significant surge of more than 400 percent.

She has said she cannot pull the hospital's full record, so the monthly figure is her estimate from the floor. The document that is not an estimate is the email.

In September 2022, nurse manager Julie Christopherson wrote to nursing and technical staff about what the hospital called "demise patients."

"Well, it seems as though the increase of demise patients that we are seeing is going to continue," she wrote. "There were 22 demises in August, which ties the record number of demises in July 2021, and so far in September there have been 7 and it's only the 8th day of the month."

She told the bedside nurses the work was burying her other patients. "I know of a few more that are scheduled to deliver in the week ahead, so unfortunately the process is going to be very familiar with all of you." The note walked staff through handling remains after a dead fetus had been mishandled. It did not ask why the babies were dying.

Spencer's complaint says she "was gaslit by management who continued to make unsubstantiated excuses such as 'pesticides' as a more likely cause of the record high dead babies." The institution's documented move was procedural, not investigative.

When she leaked the email, the hospital opened an investigation into her, denied her a $5,000 retention bonus in December 2022 on the grounds she was no longer in good standing, and reprimanded her for telling patients about vaccine risk. Children's Health Defense is funding the suit.

Her lawyer, Greg Glaser, put the allegation in one line: "The hospital possessed vaccinated versus unvaccinated comparison data. The numbers proved the vaccines were causing miscarriages and more in the vaccinated group. We know hospital management analyzed the data because they said so, and we see they concealed it from regulators because that file requested by regulators is empty."

The complaint says one managing nurse told a staff member that nearly all of the stillbirths were in vaccinated mothers, and that fetal deaths in mothers who did not get the shot stayed at the old rate of about one a month. Spencer told The New American: "Healthy moms and healthy babies were suddenly being replaced by babies born dead, and nobody seemed to care. I saw a pattern, clear as day, and I couldn't stay silent."

President Trump addressed a full house for his Monday night midterm campaign rally in Grand Island, Nebraska - but his comments on the Iran war, gas prices, and musings about a nuclear weapon taking out American cities created an avalanche of controversy.

Making the case for his launching Operation Epic Fury, Trump at one point in the speech said, "They could take out a city," and then: "Let 'em take out Los Angeles. Let 'em take out San Diego." The clip went viral on various social media platforms, especially ones that didn't convey the full context. Though Trump's rhetorical ordering of what he was trying to convey was clearly mangled and off, he was actually expressing a warning and not a wish.

Regardless, it wasn't just prominent Democrats that expressed shock and outrage at what was widely construed as him suggesting he'd be okay with the Iranians nuking a couple California cities, but some Republicans too. For example a Trump-endorsed Republican who is seeking an open House seat in California, Jim Desmond, stated he "vehemently" disagreed with the comments.

"The first responsibility of our commander in chief is to protect the American people and our homeland," he wrote online. "As a Navy veteran, I served to protect Americans, not write off American cities as an acceptable price of war. Our job is to keep Americans safe, stand up to our enemies, and make sure a threat like that never becomes reality. No American city is expendable, and no American family should ever be treated as collateral damage."

Naturally, Gov. Gavin Newsom of California also blasted the president's remarks. "After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California," he stated, "Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego."

Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles said she was "just shocked" at Trump's remarks and called for an immediate retraction and apology. "It would really be helpful to our city if you would apologize and say, of course, you would never stand for a foreign power attacking a U.S. city," she said. "That is the appropriate response the day after from the president of the United States." She has of course frequently been on the receiving end of Trump's attacks.

The White House issued official response on Tuesday, pointing out that intent matters and implying that Trump's off-the-cuff, hyperbolic, and rambling style are being willfully misinterpreted. Here's the explanation by White House's communications director, Steven Cheung:

"The media freakout over President Trump’s comments is not rooted in reality. He was clearly stating U.S. cities would have been threatened if a nuclear Iran hadn’t been stopped. America is safer because of the president. Iran has no nuclear, no navy, no air force, and no money."

FBI spied on Trump’s family – declassified docs

Agents tracked Melania and Barron Trump’s movements while monitoring calls involving lawyers, advisers and journalists

The FBI tracked the movements of Donald Trump’s wife and teenage son and monitored the phone contacts of one of his closest aides during its investigation of the then-former US president, newly declassified documents have revealed.

The disclosures are fueling accusations from the White House that the Biden administration weaponized federal law enforcement against its main political rival. The files shed new light on an FBI probe codenamed Plasmic Echo, which examined Trump’s handling of classified documents and ultimately led to the 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Internal planning records show that agents sought detailed information on the travel of Trump, Melania and their son Barron while preparing to search the Florida estate.

One FBI task list instructed investigators to “finalize FBI understanding of FPOTUS/FLOTUS/minor son’s travel,” including the type of aircraft being used and a “specific timeline.” Another internal message indicated that any search warrant would be executed only after Trump had left Mar-a-Lago.

The surveillance dragnet later extended to Susie Wiles, then one of Trump’s closest advisers and now his White House chief of staff.

Between February and May 2023, investigators used a pen register and trap-and-trace system to monitor metadata associated with Wiles’ phone. It allowed agents to track numbers, timing and duration of calls involving lawyers, campaign advisers, journalists and others in Trump’s orbit.

In one instance, investigators reviewed Wiles’ phone activity shortly after interviewing her, apparently seeking to determine whom she contacted following the meeting. Agents also sent preservation requests to Google, Microsoft, MSN and Yahoo for information associated with her email accounts and examined political endorsements and social-media activity by Trump allies.

The newly released White House materials also say agents scrutinized political endorsements, social-media activity and other constitutionally protected conduct while trying to determine whether Trump had broken the law by taking classified documents to Mar-a-Lago after leaving office.

“Jack Smith’s surveillance operation was a disgraceful abuse of government power,” White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told Fox News. “Spying on political opponents is weaponization of law enforcement, plain and simple.”

The investigation was conducted under President Joe Biden and overseen by senior Justice Department and FBI officials. Trump and his allies have repeatedly accused Biden of turning federal agencies into political weapons, an allegation the previous administration denied.

Trump was ultimately charged with illegally retaining classified material and obstructing efforts to recover it, but denied wrongdoing. A federal judge dismissed the case in July 2024 after ruling that special counsel Jack Smith had been unlawfully appointed. Smith later abandoned the prosecution following Trump’s election victory.

Tests reveal toxic pesticides and forever chemicals in Aussie supermarket produce

Australia allows the use of hundreds of hazardous chemicals that are banned overseas - and it could have “multigenerational effects”.

A bombshell report has exposed hidden dangers lurking in our groceries, with lab testing uncovering alarming levels of pesticide residues on fruit and veggies sold across Australian supermarkets.

Australia’s Residue Report 2026, released on Wednesday by Pesticide Action Australia, examined 13 types of fruit and vegetables randomly purchased at Coles, Woolworths and Aldi stores across Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne in June.

The independent testing of everyday staples including apples, avocado, bananas, blueberries, broccoli, capsicum, cucumber, grapes, lettuce, potatoes, rockmelon, strawberries and tomatoes revealed 201 pesticide residues across the 78 samples, from 54 different pesticides.

Alarmingly, 44 per cent of samples carried one or more per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) – also known as “forever chemicals” – which have been linked with serious health problems in humans including cancers, high cholesterol and immune system dysfunction.

Four residues also breached national regulator the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority’s (APVMA) own limits, and 56 per cent of samples carried at least one pesticide not approved for use in the European Union.

The testing also revealed 14 per cent of samples carried a neonicotinoid pesticide – a class of systemic pesticide widely banned and restricted overseas which is absorbed inside crops and which is linked to significant health and environmental concerns.

Five different organophosphate pesticides – a class of neurotoxic chemicals originating from World War II nerve agents that have been significantly restricted or banned globally due to serious health and environmental risks – were also revealed by the testing.

Four samples tested - including grapes, strawberries and capsicums - exceeded maximum residue limits set by the APVMA.

The not-for-profit charity, which advocates to reduce pesticide use across Australia, also found eight residues indicating unauthorised pesticide use, and is urgently seeking confirmation from authorities.

North American Telugu Association Extracted Millions of Dollars’ Worth of Fraudulent Donations from Employers Nationwide

SAN JOSE – Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Ghosala, 65, of North Wales, Pennsylvania, was charged by information on May 5, 2026. Under the plea agreement, Ghosala pleaded guilty to all counts. In pleading guilty, Ghosala admitted he was the President of the non-profit organization North American Telugu Association, Inc. (also known as NATA) from 2019 through 2022. During this period, and under Ghosala’s leadership, NATA defrauded multiple employers’ corporate matching programs by causing employees to request and secure millions of dollars’ worth of corporate matching payments for purported charitable contributions which did not qualify for matching payments, usually because the contributions were refunded to the employees by NATA, often via cash or payments to intermediaries (rather than to employees directly). Ghosala also admitted he worked with others to falsify NATA’s tax returns for 2019 through 2021 by fraudulently reclassifying expenditures which were actually used to reimburse donors as legitimate expenses. Ghosala then authorized the filing of those tax returns despite the fact that he knew they were false.

Another defendant, Venkateswara Kalluri, was charged in connection with this scheme in case No. 5:25-cr-00066-EJD. Kalluri pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States on June 23, 2025.

United States Attorney Craig H. Missakian, IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) San Francisco Field Office Acting Special Agent in Charge David Lowe, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent in Charge Scott Schelbe made the announcement.

Ghosala’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 22, 2027, at 1:30 PM before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila. Ghosala faces a maximum statutory penalty of 20 years in prison as to the wire fraud conspiracy count, and 5 years in prison as to the conspiracy to defraud the United States count. Any sentence will be imposed by the court after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and the federal statute governing the imposition of a sentence, 18 U.S.C. § 3553.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael G. Pitman is prosecuting the case with the assistance of Sahib Kaur. The prosecution is the result of an investigation by IRS-CI, and the FBI.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – David J. Rush, 49, of Ashburn, pled guilty today to executing a scheme to defraud the federal government relating to the misuse of his government position, resulting in a loss of approximately $194 million.

“Federal employees are entrusted with serving the American people, not themselves,” said Attorney General Todd Blanche. “The Trump Administration is committed to rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, including by prosecuting those who foolishly defraud American taxpayers.”

Former TD Bank Employee Pleads Guilty to Accepting Bribes, Laundering $4.8 Million to Colombia

NEWARK, N.J. – Gerardo Aquino, 40, of Hollywood, Florida, pleaded guilty to accepting bribes and facilitating the laundering of more than $4.8 million to Colombia while employed by TD Bank, N.A., U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced.

Aquino, 40, pleaded guilty today before the Honorable Esther Salas in Newark to a two-count Information charging him with conspiring to launder monetary instruments and receipt of bribes by a bank employee. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 23, 2027.
