Manafort's lawyer delivered major blows to prosecution star witness ( Gates ) and prosecution is expected to wrap up their side this week. That indicates we have seen their best.

♦ Judge hammers prosecution repeatedly including causing eyes to well up with tears

♦ Judge calls out hearsay testimony and says he will allow it unless Defense side wants to object. In a surprise, Prosecution objects and Court room erupts in laughter ( showing lack of respect for prosecutor and his actions )

♦ Gates testifies that he committed all the crimes that Manafort is charged with and did it WITH HIM as well as additional crimes including embezzling money from Manafort and hiding info from Manafort.

♦ Judge intervenes when Manafort's lawyers expose Gates lied to prosecutors by not being completely honest about the number of affairs. Gates admitted to one and said he did not use the money on that affair but was not allowed to respond to question identifying 3 more affairs that he may have used the money for. He was not allowed to answer because it would have been a new crime in which his plea deal was not covered as well as voiding the plea deal he already had for lying.

These things do not look good for the prosecution and the defense hasn't even started their case yet. No wonder the prosecutor was crying.
