Amazon builds 1,000th satellite, will launch space internet service by end of year

The world’s largest retailer wants to sell you something else—Internet from space.
Amazon has been developing a constellation of satellites to deliver broadband Internet from low-Earth orbit for the better part of a decade, and the company is just about ready to pull back the curtain.
It is entering a market that SpaceX, with its Starlink Internet, has dominated for the last half-decade. Amazon’s debut into satellite Internet is being closely watched, not just by some consumers, but by businesses ranging from airlines to shipping companies to governments. Broadband Internet from orbit has proven broadly useful for a lot of purposes, from video games to commerce to warfighting.
But until now, most people had to buy it from Elon Musk and SpaceX. OneWeb has only offered limited services, leaving Amazon as the only real competitor to deliver high-speed Internet globally.
Moreover, at the head of the company’s broadband efforts is Rajeev Badyal, who led Starlink during its early years, but whom Musk fired eight years ago for moving too cautiously on Starlink.
In a wide-ranging interview this week with Badyal and two other senior Amazon officials developing the constellation—Paul Palcisco, director of production; and Chris Weber, vice president of business—Ars was able to learn that the Amazon Leo project is nearing several critical milestones.
At its Kirkland, Washington-based factory, the company recently manufactured its 1,000th satellite, will soon make its debut on the Vulcan rocket, and is just weeks away from offering commercial service for the first time.
We discussed the challenges that Amazon had to overcome to become the world’s second-largest satellite manufacturer (behind SpaceX), and reach the point where it can build a handful of satellites every day.
Badyal also confirmed that the Vulcan rocket’s upcoming return-to-flight mission will carry Amazon Leo satellites and that another Vulcan rocket standing right next to it is also being prepared to launch this year with more Amazon satellites.
And finally, and perhaps most consequentially, Amazon is close to offering its service commercially.
The company has been busy signing contracts—Delta Airlines’ agreement to use Amazon over Starlink on its planes has upset SpaceX founder Elon Musk, to put it mildly—and consumers are about to get an alternative to the industry-leading space broadband service. Are Amazon and its founder, Jeff Bezos, ready to compete?

Ukraine targets Russian industrial hub in Siberia

Ukrainian drones have targeted a major industrial hub in the Siberian city of Omsk, as Kiev carried out another UAV raid inside Russia.
Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko confirmed the attack on Thursday, saying Russian air defenses had intercepted most of the incoming UAVs.
“One drone reached the northern industrial hub. Emergency services are working at the scene,” he wrote on Telegram, without providing details regarding any casualties or damage.
The northern industrial hub is home to several major petrochemical facilities, including the Omsk Oil Refinery, Russia’s largest. The area was previously targeted by Ukrainian drones in July, when several UAVs reached the site.
Operated by Gazprom Neft, the refinery has an annual processing capacity of more than 20 million tons of crude oil and is located approximately 2,500km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
Kiev has ramped up its long-range UAV attacks on energy facilities and civilian targets inside Russia amid continued setbacks on the battlefield in recent months.
On Wednesday, a child was killed and four other civilians were wounded in a strike on Belgorod Region, according to local authorities.
Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said that Ukrainian attacks took the lives of 29 civilians, including two children, and wounded another 206 between September 28 and October 4.
Moscow has repeatedly described Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets as acts of terrorism.
The Russian Defense Ministry has vowed to intensify strikes on Ukraine’s military and military-industrial facilities and related infrastructure in response to Vladimir Zelensky’s threats to expand attacks on oil refineries.
The ministry has since reported large-scale strikes on Ukrainian facilities involved in producing and storing long-range weapons, including sites linked to the domestically developed FP-5 Flamingo missile.

Sentinel-3C returns its first views of Earth

Just two weeks after it was launched, the Copernicus Sentinel-3C satellite returned its first images and measurements from two of its key instruments – a major milestone that confirms the satellite is working well and on the road to monitoring the health of Earth’s oceans, land, cryosphere and atmosphere.
This first set of images includes stunning views of Italy, the Arctic and the Caribbean from the satellite’s ocean and land colour instrument, as well as measurements of the height of the Greenland ice sheet and sea surface from its synthetic aperture radar altimeter.
Sentinel-3C is the third satellite in the Sentinel-3 series and will continue the mission’s long-term task of delivering environmental data that are essential for a wide range of applications.
As the workhorse mission for Copernicus, the Sentinel-3 satellites carry the same suite of instruments to measure systematically Earth’s oceans, land, cryosphere and atmosphere.
Over oceans, Sentinel-3 measures the temperature, colour and height of the sea surface as well as the thickness of sea ice to support, for example, the monitoring of marine pollution and marine heatwaves.
Over land, this innovative mission monitors drought and wildfires, maps the way land is used, checks vegetation health, and measures the height of rivers, lakes, and polar ice sheets as shown in the animation of Greenland below.
Sentinel-3's observations are also particularly valuable for providing near-realtime parameters for weather forecasting and for monitoring long-term changes associated with climate change.
The European Space Agency is still in the process of commissioning Sentinel-3C for service, an important and intricate task that will take another five months, but after only two weeks in orbit, the satellite’s initial images already showcase that it is on the road to excellence.
The first image, captured by the ocean and land colour instrument on 30 September, is a striking natural-colour view that reveals Italy in beautiful detail, stretching from southern Germany in the north to Sicily and the southern Mediterranean.
Just above the centre of the image, the broad, flat expanse of the Po Valley – Italy’s agricultural heartland – stands out in shades of brown and green. Just to the north, the snow-capped Alps form a dramatic contrast with the lowlands, their bright peaks clearly visible against the surrounding landscape. Across the rest of Italy, variations in green and brown reflect differences in vegetation, agriculture and other types of land cover.
To the east, the deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea separate Italy from the Balkan Peninsula, which is partially visible in the image.
Noticeable variations in sea colour can be seen along Italy’s eastern coastline, where lighter blue waters hug the shore. These brighter tones are likely caused by sediment carried into the sea by rivers and transported along the coast.

On Italy’s western side, the dark waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea surround the islands of Sardinia and Sicily, which are clearly visible, while Corsica is largely obscured by cloud.
Together, the contrasting colours of the land, snow-covered mountains and surrounding seas provide a vivid view of Italy’s diverse landscape from space.
The second image, also captured by the ocean and land colour instrument on 30 September, features part of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, to the west of Greenland.
Snow- and ice-covered islands dominate the scene, with rugged coastlines, deep fjords and exposed rock creating intricate patterns. At this time of the year sea ice is at a minimum but some fractured floes are visible on the dark open water.
The Arctic is warming much faster than the global average, causing rapid melting of ice on land and ice in the sea, which leads to further warming through feedback loops.
Sentinel-3’s different instruments measure ice in different ways – all contributing to a better understanding of the vulnerable polar regions.
The third image captured on 29 September, also by the ocean and land colour instrument, is a spectacular view of part of the Caribbean, with Cuba to the south and the Bahamas towards the top of the image.
Shallow waters around the islands appear in a beautiful turquoise set against the darker deeper waters of the open sea.
Low-lying islands and coastal regions around the world are at risk of sea-level rise.
Sentinel-3’s synthetic aperture radar altimeter measures changes in the height of the sea surface to help monitor rising seas and contribute to action on climate change and mitigation strategies.
The map above shows measurements of sea-surface height across the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea from Sentinel-3C’s synthetic aperture radar altimeter, compared to the Copernicus Marine Service multimission sea-level anomaly.
These new data demonstrate that the altimeter is performing well and comparable to current measurements. Once commissioned, the altimeter will contribute to monitoring changes in sea-surface height around the world, complementing long-term records from missions such as Copernicus Sentinel-6 and Jason.
High-precision satellite altimetry has enabled scientists to establish the rate of global sea-level rise, which has averaged 3.64 mm per year since 1999, with the rate of rise accelerating.
The altimeter will also measure changes in the height of lakes, rivers, sea ice and land ice, also complementing the upcoming Copernicus CRISTAL mission.
The animation above shows measurements of the height of the Greenland Ice Sheet acquired by Sentinel-3C between 30 September and 4 October.
The measurements also demonstrate that the altimeter is performing well, with all of the measurement tracks closely matching the reference digital elevation model.
Monitoring changes in the height of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets is essential for understanding the impacts of climate change and, importantly, for improving predictions of future sea-level rise.
Ice loss from the sheets is a major contributor to sea-level rise, and satellite altimetry provides a valuable way of tracking changes in their surface elevation over time.
All in all, these first acquisitions from Sentinel-3C’s ocean and land colour instrument and from its synthetic aperture radar altimeter provide early confirmation of the satellite’s performance and mark an important step towards full operational service following the completion of the commissioning phase.

Solar Orbiter tracks origin of mysterious magnetic switchbacks

The European Space Agency-led Solar Orbiter spacecraft has flown through an S-shaped kink known as a ‘switchback’ in the solar wind’s magnetic field.
By fingerprinting the elusive particles within the switchback, Solar Orbiter has traced its origin back to the Sun’s surface and revealed more about solar magnetism – the unruly instigator of dangerous solar storms.
The Sun has an intense and restless magnetic field. This field not only governs the star itself but is also dragged outwards along field lines by the solar wind, a stream of hot charged particles (plasma) that continuously pours out from the Sun into space.
These lines can twist, snap, or fold back on themselves on their journey through the Solar System. Together, the solar wind and its dynamic field lines create all kinds of exciting activity that we can study to understand what’s happening on and around our star.
Back in 2022, ESA reported that Solar Orbiter had spotted a kink in the solar wind’s magnetic field known as a ‘switchback’. While switchbacks have been spotted often near the Sun, scientists are still debating how they form.
By watching from afar, Solar Orbiter helped solve a piece of this puzzle, confirming the switchback to be S-shaped: something scientists had predicted but not seen directly.
The spacecraft has now added another crucial piece to this puzzle by tracing a switchback back to its source at the Sun.
“Solar Orbiter flew through a very large switchback,” says Jesse Coburn of CNRS/LPP, France, lead author of the new paper.
“Because of this, we were able to sample rarely observed particles there that have tell-tale fingerprints of their origin.”

Not either-or, but both
To make this connection, Jesse and colleagues used Solar Orbiter’s Solar Wind Analyser instrument (SWA) to sample the plasma making up the switchback. At the time, Solar Orbiter was roughly halfway between Earth and the Sun.
They found a mix of charged oxygen and carbon particles that could only have formed in one way: within hot magnetic field loops at the surface of the Sun.
“There are two main competing theories for how a switchback, and by extension the solar wind, forms,” adds Jesse. “The specific mix of particles detected by Solar Orbiter is the smoking gun for a formation process known as 'interchange reconnection’.”
This kind of reconnection takes place when parts of the Sun with different magnetic properties interact. In the Sun’s atmosphere, open regions have field lines that stretch away like highways, allowing material to zoom along them into space.
Closed regions have lines that initially extend into space before curving back to the Sun, creating closed loops. When an open region engages with a closed one, the lines can crowd together, snap open, and reconnect in different ways, allowing plasma that was previously trapped in a loop to escape to space.
This is what happened with this switchback – but that’s not all. The alternative theory of switchback formation involves processes related to waves and turbulence (the kind of waves that Solar Orbiter has found to play a key role in heating and accelerating the solar wind).
“Excitingly, we also see signs of these, but likely only after the switchback heads out into space,” says co-author Stephanie Yardley of Northumbria University, UK. “Once the switchback has left the Sun, waves and turbulence take over and govern how it moves.
“Overall, it seems that both processes – interchange reconnection and waves and turbulence – are involved in how switchbacks form and move through space. Our finding reconciles the two, showing that they simply operate at different stages in a switchback’s lifetime.”
From switchbacks to storms
To make the discovery, the researchers studied in situ observations of the switchback’s particles from Solar Orbiter’s SWA, analysed images of the Sun’s disc, and modelled the magnetic fields of both the Sun and surrounding space.
They created a new model to identify where the plasma came from; this model connected the measurements from Solar Orbiter to data from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory to reveal the switchback’s solar source in unprecedented detail.
Looking beyond switchbacks, the finding reveals how the Sun heats its atmosphere and accelerates solar wind particles into space.
Furthermore, it shows that the Sun’s atmosphere imprints its signature onto the particles making up this wind, giving us a possible way to read the history of solar plasma even far from the Sun.
“As humans on Earth – and in space – our lives are entangled with what’s happening on our star.
The solar wind ties the Earth to the Sun, and our understanding of its dynamics has key implications for how we keep our planet safe from extreme space weather events,” says Daniel Müller, ESA Project Scientist for Solar Orbiter.
“The more we know, the better we can prepare for solar storms to protect our space-based infrastructure and technology.”
“This discovery just wouldn’t have been possible without Solar Orbiter – no other spacecraft has both the proximity to the Sun and the right instruments needed to make this connection.
It’s a great example of the mission delivering exactly the kind of science we knew it could, connecting the Sun to its wider environment and revealing more detail about our star.”

Ukrainian Drones Hit Yandex Data Center, Industrial Facilities Across Russia

A Ukrainian drone attack ignited a fire at a data center owned by Russian tech giant Yandex in the Ryazan region overnight, the company said Thursday, suspending the site’s operations and triggering service disruptions.
The attack marks the first confirmed strike against Russian data infrastructure since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, weeks after Moscow launched attacks against Ukrainian data centers.
Yandex confirmed that operations at the facility in the town of Sasovo were fully suspended while emergency teams worked to contain the damage, according to a statement circulated in the media.
Governor Pavel Malkov said the roof of a Sasovo district company, which he did not name, caught fire.
No casualties were reported.
NASA’s fire monitoring service FIRMS showed a fire in Sasovo early Thursday morning.
Outage tracking platform Downdetector recorded more than 1,300 user reports of disruptions affecting Yandex Cloud, Yandex Documents and Yandex Tables, while core consumer tools like search and taxi services remained online.
Yandex shares dropped more than 3.4% during Thursday morning trading on the Moscow Exchange.
A fire also broke out at an industrial site in Russia’s town of Salavat in the republic of Bashkortostan after drone debris fell on it, local authorities reported on Thursday.
There are no casualties, and the enterprise continues operations, they added.
Ukrainian forces struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refinery and petrochemicals complex in central Russia’s Bashkortostan region, Kyiv’s military said on Thursday.
In a statement, the General Staff said the attack had sparked a fire.
On Thursday afternoon, eyewitnesses told the exiled outlet Astra that Ukrainian drones attacked Russia’s largest oil refinery in the Omsk region of western Siberia.
Governor Vitaly Khotsenko confirmed a Ukrainian drone attack on the Omsk region without specifying the targets. Civil aviation authorities suspended inbound and outbound flights during the afternoon air raid alert.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted 399 Ukrainian drones over 18 Russian regions and annexed Crimea overnight.
The Sasovo attack comes after Russian forces have, since late September, hit at least eight major data centers across Kyiv, causing widespread internet blackouts in Ukraine. Russia claimed the data centers processed military intelligence for Ukrainian forces.

IDF kills Hamas commander who held several former Israeli hostages in Gaza City strikes
The IDF killed Muhammad Muhsen Nimr Yazji, a commander of Hamas's Shati Battalion who held several former hostages during strikes in Gaza City on Monday, the military announced on Thursday evening.
The former hostages Yazji held captive include Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Matan Angrest.
Damari was abducted from her home in Kfar Aza, alongside Gali and Ziv Berman. Gonen was abducted from the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Re'im. The two were released on January 19, 2025, together with Doron Steinbrecher.
Angrest was abducted from his tank near Nahal Oz after his crewmates, Capt. Daniel Perez, St.-Sgt. Itay Chen, and Sgt. Tomer Leibovitz, were all murdered by Hamas. He was released on October 13, 2025.
IDF kills second Hamas terrorist in Tuesday strikes
In separate strikes on Tuesday, the IDF also killed Muhammad Fawzi Muhammad Awad Gamal, a terrorist who served in Hamas's Daraj Tuffah Battalion.

IDF officer killed in southern Lebanon, three others injured during operation
In the incident in which Capt. Eliav Haim Tzapalamus fell, three other IDF soldiers were lightly injured.
Capt. Eliav Haim Tzapalamus, aged 21, from Haifa, died in a combat incident in southern Lebanon, the military announced on Thursday. He was a combat officer in the Combat Engineering Corps, 603rd Battalion, 7th Brigade.
Tzapalamus was killed when a Humvee flipped during operational activity in the Litani sector.
Three other IDF soldiers were lightly injured in the incident.
The three soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, and their families have been notified.

US imposes fresh sanctions on Iran's shadow fleet
The Trump administration imposed fresh sanctions on Iran on Thursday targeting individuals, networks and 17 vessels for transporting its crude, oil products and petrochemicals, in the latest act of US economic warfare on Tehran, the Treasury Department said.
The sanctions are part of the department's "Operation Economic Outcast," which aims to cut Tehran's funding for the war, missile construction, cyberattacks and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or IRGC
"Today's action represents the most significant blow yet to Iran's remaining illicit maritime infrastructure by neutralizing the vast majority of the shadow fleet," a Treasury official told reporters in a call. "Treasury is cutting off the regime's last major source of illicit revenue and strengthening international pressure to hold Tehran accountable."

Defense Minister Israel Katz has instructed officials on Thursday to pursue administrative removal orders against activists whose activities are deemed to threaten public order or security in the West Bank, following a request from Yesha Council chairman Yisrael Ganz.
The move comes as the annual olive harvest begins in the West Bank this week, with left-wing activists preparing to travel to the area.

He would have been a much tougher adversary than Ahmad Vahidi, who eventually became the new IRGC chief.
Many top Israeli officials viewed Tangsiri as a highly creative and resourceful commander, whereas Vahidi was largely seen as a deputy to a deputy of top commanders, lacking the power to shape the broader security posture.

Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis have stepped up their deadly campaign of strikes on Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, where booms were heard on Thursday, flights were disrupted, and some office staff were told to work from home.
The Houthis said they had fired a ballistic missile at Riyadh airport and repeated a threat to force Saudi airspace to close after the kingdom gave support to the forces of Yemen's internationally recognized government in a reignited civil war.

Ethiopian drones hit Eritrean forces accused of backing rebels in Tigray

Drone strikes hit Eritrean vehicles around the northern city of Adigrat overnight, with witnesses reporting destroyed lorries and retreating troops, days after Ethiopia expelled Eritrean diplomats and Eritrea severed ties.
Ethiopian drone strikes have targeted Eritrean forces who had reached a northern Tigrayan city, a conflict monitor and witnesses said on Thursday, amid fears that the renewed fighting in the African country might turn into a wider regional war.
The strikes came as the Tigray People's Liberation Front-led seven-group rebel coalition continued to push against federal forces across northern Ethiopia, with fighting reported in Afar and Amhara regions since the coalition announced its offensive last week.
Eritrean troops crossed the border this week and were positioned around the Ethiopian city of Adigrat in northern Tigray, according to multiple sources.
Conflict monitor ACLED said "Eritrean troops and ammunition" in the Adigrat area were hit by "multiple drone strikes" overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
"There were many, many drone strikes yesterday. Some Eritrean lorries have been destroyed. They are no longer in the streets," one witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.
Another witness in Adigrat, who also asked for anonymity, said they had heard a "massive explosion during the night".
"I also saw Eritrean military vehicles that had been hit by a drone," they added.
A third witness said Eritrean troops appeared to be retreating north.
Relations between the two neighbouring countries, which fought a border war from 1998 to 2000, have deteriorated again in recent months.
Ethiopia accuses Eritrea of backing rebels in its northern Tigray state, and the two countries severed diplomatic ties last week.
The government in Asmara in turn accuses Ethiopia of supporting its own opponents, and of looking for a pretext to invade its territory and seize direct access to the Red Sea.
Eritrean Information Minister Yemane Meskel said on X that Ethiopia was "openly working to bring about regime change in Eritrea by providing shelter and support to certain mercenaries who claim to be opposition".
Neither Ethiopia nor Eritrea has responded to questions about the fighting.
Alliance turned ugly
Eritrea gained independence from Ethiopia in 1993, cutting off the latter from access to the Red Sea.
After years of war and tension, relations improved markedly after Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed rose to power in 2018, an effort he was rewarded for with a Nobel Peace Prize.
Eritrea even fought alongside Ethiopia during the latter's 2020-2022 civil war against the TPLF.
But the relationship deteriorated soon after, with Eritrea voicing anger over the terms of the peace agreement that ended that war and, later on, Ethiopia's claims that it has a right to sea access.
Abiy's rhetoric escalated to claim that allowing Eritrea's independence was a "mistake," as Ethiopia accused Eritrean troops of crimes against civilians during the 2020-2022 Tigray war.
This and other accusations prompted Eritrea to blast Ethiopia for allegedly "floating false flags to justify the war that it has been itching to unleash for two long years".
Sparks flew again in February, when Addis Ababa accused its neighbour of sending troops across the border, an allegation Asmara slammed as "false".
Addis Ababa has further pointed a finger at Eritrea, but also at Sudan and Egypt for allegedly supporting the TPLF-led alliance in the latest escalation of fighting.
Last Thursday, Ethiopia expelled 10 Eritrean diplomats and shut its embassy in Asmara, while Eritrea responded that it would "sever all diplomatic ties".

Former Pentagon worker Luis Elizondo returns to Washington for covert US government UAP work, triggering intense debate across the UFO community.
Since May, there has been a more institutional effort on UFO disclosure, with six tranches of evidence having been released. Sometimes though, it feels like the movement lacks an official spokesperson to champion the cause a bit more.
Enter former US intelligence officer Luis Elizondo who told Martin Willis on Podcast UFO Live Shows that he has returned to the Washington, DC area and is “working very diligently behind the scenes on behalf of the American people” on the UAP issue, although he declined to specify his exact role.
Back on familiar turf
For some, Elizondo is considered as a major catalyst for UFO disclosure.
Having resigned from his position as head of Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), Elizondo has frequently spoken out against government secrecy of their handling of information.
He has also been brazen at times, recently warning other whistleblowers like David Grusch to be careful about revealing too much, as the CIA may be plotting “to eliminate you.”
During the interview with Willis, Elizondo was unusually vague, perhaps because of a non-disclosure agreement.
However, he emphasised he was continuing to advocate for “disclosure, truth and transparency regarding the UAP topic”, while keen to add that politicians are receptive to his efforts “from an advisory perspective.”
And, for those following the UFO disclosure movement, this lack of clarity left them grappling for meaning.
A sceptical reaction
The frustrating aspect for a lot of the UFO community on Reddit is the lack of specifics, no department, project, or role description was given by Elizondo, it was literally a case of “so here I am” (his own words.)
One commenter branded Elizondo “a government megaphone,” stipulating he is “nothing close to being a whistleblower.” Others chimed in and agreed, with one Redditor sarcastically remarking “he’s the resident expert now.”
In another post he Elizondo was accused of “dangling a carrot in front of us but leading us astray,” doubling down that he will be a buffer protecting the Legacy program (alleged government retrieval and concealment of UFO craft) “until he is old and senile.
Another UFOer tried to break down the speculation into the three possibilities of a “slow drip” towards disclosure, using Elizondo as an obstacle to the truth, or psychological warfare in the weapons race.
As Elizondo was quite muted, it’s too early to say if his usual flamboyant nature will come to the fore again, revealing the real reasons why he has been hired again.

Secretary Of Energy Breaks Silence on UFOs

🚨BREAKING🚨: A former Secretary of Energy, who ran America's nuclear weapons complex, says there are UFOs flying over the most sensitive American military facilities that are wholly unidentified.
He also says that UFOs seen by Navy Fighter pilots and caught by thermal imaging are legitimate sightings of craft that transcend human physics and engineering and that the most interesting place to look for physical evidence of UFOs might be on the seafloor.
John Herrington ran the Department of Energy from 1985 to 1989, and by his own description two-thirds of it was weapons and military programs ("really a small defense department”, in his words).
He says the Navy gun-camera films of UFOs are real, the Navy would never fake them, and whatever is powering those craft "is not within our capability, and it's not within the capability of any country that I know of."
He also agrees with Marco Rubio that things are flying with impunity over American military sites and nobody knows what they are.
Herrington also confirmed Ronald Reagan’s UFO sighting in 1974 in which Reagan told the pilot to chase the UFO.
He reveals never-before interactions with UFO whistleblower David Grusch and finally addresses an apocryphal story that has been circulating about him being briefed about Aliens (that he supposedly saw firsthand) in an underground facility in West Virginia.
Herrington says his department was "riddled with spooks”; a Chinese spy was working inside the weapons labs while he ran them, and he says foreign governments have infiltrated the US government from top to bottom.
He says Bob Lazar could well have been reverse-engineering something at Area 51, because there is equipment there America acquired from other governments, but he can’t confirm that it was UFO reverse-engineering effort.

Either way all indicators say this is going to happen and from my perspective, it’s necessary to move this narrative forward. We cannot go into the future with any intelligence while humans are still staring at their feet and thinking they are “alone” in the multi-verse!
