Mike Rogers Pretty Much Mopped the Floor With Abdul El-Sayed in a Debate Tonight – Watch Some Highlights

By Mike LaChance Oct. 8, 2026

Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, the two candidates running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, had a debate tonight.

Let’s just say it was a good night for the Rogers campaign. He did very well and you can watch some highlights below.

In this clip, El-Sayed hits Rogers for having a home in Florida. Rogers reminds the audience that El-Sayed has a home in the United Arab Emirates, then says, ‘at least Florida is in the United States.’

In this clip, Rogers reminds the audience that El-Sayed is not actually a licensed doctor, despite claims from his supporters.

Here, Abdul El-Sayed is asked which country is a greater threat to the United States, Israel or Iran. It’s such an easy question and yet he refuses to answer.

In this clip, Rogers mentions the fact that El-Sayed’s mother worked for a group with ties to Al-Qaeda. Just brutal.

Finally, we’ll leave you withthis video of a woman who claims to be a lifelong Democrat who is voting Republican for the first time, for Mike Rogers.

Scalise: El-Sayed ‘Not the Anomaly’ — He Is the ‘Common Thread’ Democrats Are Running

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise on Fox Business's Mornings with Fox Business | October 8, 2026

During an appearance on Thursday’s broadcast of FBN’s “Mornings,” House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) insisted Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, a self-proclaimed Democrat Socialist, was not an anomaly.

According to the Louisiana Republican, El-Sayed was the “common thread” among Democratic candidates this election cycle.

“So, Leader Scalise, I want to get your thoughts on this, because Karl Rove wrote this morning in The Wall Street Journal OpEd section that Republicans are praying for a polling failure, and I think this is interesting because he says, with the midterms almost here, campaigns are nearing that, quote, ‘lock-in point,'” host Cheryl Casone said. “What do you make of that with only 28 days left?”

Scalise replied, “Well, if you just go back to two years ago, there were seven swing states, and that decided the presidential election. And by the way, in most of those states, President Trump was down in those polls, and then he won on Election Day. The poll that matters, obviously, is what voters do on Election Day. What we’re urging, number one, we’ve worked with President Trump to make life more affordable for working families, and it’s President Trump who has delivered and reversed a lot of the bad policies of Joe Biden, and people still remember those bad days under Joe Biden of record-high inflation, higher gas prices than today, all of those other things.”

“But ultimately, this is going to be a turnout election, Cheryl,” he added. “People need to show up and vote. And if you think, hey, I can sit it out because it’s a midterm, it’s not a presidential election, that’s what happens a lot. If you do, by the way, socialists can absolutely win. Look at El-Sayed in Michigan. He is not the anomaly. He is the common thread of the kind of candidates that the Democrats are running this year. Socialists are saying — that was in Scranton, Pennsylvania last week, the candidate there on the Democrat side doesn’t just want to defund the police. They want to disarm the police, literally take away guns from cops. It’s insane, and you would say, “Oh, that’s not going to happen. Well, it happens if people stay home. It will not happen if people show up and vote for common sense conservatives against these crazy communists. So, it’s a turnout election.”

OOF! Black Commentator in Detroit Gives BRUTAL Response When Asked if Obama Campaigning for Abdul El-Sayed Will Make Any Difference (VIDEO)

By Mike LaChance Oct. 8, 2026

A black commentator from Detroit named Adolph Mongo recently appeared on NewsNation and was asked if Obama campaigning with far left Democrat Abdul El-Sayedwould make any difference in the black community, where support for El-Sayed is very low.

His response was pretty brutal. He said that he loves Obama but then talked about how you can’t put lipstick on a pig.

This is not what people at the El-Sayed campaign want to hear.

From NewsNation:

Former President Barack Obama’s upcoming campaign appearance with Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayedmay not be enough to win over skeptical Black voters in Detroit, according to a prominent political voice in the city.

Adolph Mongo, a longtime Detroit political commentator, told NewsNation’sLeland Vittert on “On Balance” that Obama’s support would not change his concerns about El-Sayed.

Asked directly whether Obama campaigning for El-Sayed would make a difference withBlack voters, Mongo responded: “No, no, it won’t. We love Obama. I love Obama.”

Obama is scheduled to appear with El-Sayed at an Oct. 24 rally in Detroit, which coincides with the first day of Michigan’s required early in-person voting period.

The former president’s appearance comes as Democrats work to consolidate support behind El-Sayed after a fiercely contested primary against Rep. Haley Stevens.NewsNation reported that Stevens outperformed El-Sayed in Wayne County, winning about 51% of the primary vote there compared with El-Sayed’s 45%.

El-Sayed ultimately defeated Stevens by less than 1 percentage point…

Watch the video:

There is another aspect to this story.

Abdul El-Sayed has actually been very critical of Obama’s presidency over the years.

Here he is in 2020 saying that the country is not better off after the eight years of Obama’s presidency

That could make things a little awkward.

Detroit commentator says Obama campaigning for Abdul El-Sayed won’t move Black voters:

"We love Obama. I love Obama. But listen, a pig by any other name is still a pig. You can put lipstick on a pig, as they say. It’s a pig."

Firewall Cracking: Germany’s AfD Takes Control of First State Parliament in Party History. 1/2

Kurt Zindulka9 Oct 2026

The anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has taken control of a state parliament for the first time in its history this week, following a historic victory in Saxony-Anhalt last month.

In a secret ballot, AfD parliamentary group leader Tobias Rausch was selected as President of the Landtag (Parliament) of Saxony-Anhalt this week, marking the first time an AfD politician has served as the presiding officer of a German state parliament, NTV reported. It came after the nationalist-sovereigntist party came out on top in the state’s elections last month, securing 39 of the 83 seats in the local parliament.

Intriguingly, while the left-wing populist BSW (Citizens’ Initiative for Social Justice) party committed its five votes to Rausch, putting him at 44 votes, the AfD leader ultimately secured 48 votes, suggesting that other parliamentarians broke ranks with their own party to back the AfD leader on Tuesday. Given the other leftist parties’ antipathy toward the anti-mass-migration party, the extra four votes possibly came from members of the Christian Democratic Union(CDU), the centre-right party of Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Merz, whose popularity has fallen to record lows, tried to save faceon Wednesday by claiming another party could have voted for the AfD, while realising that the CDU would likely be held responsible.

“We don’t know who the AfD candidate received his votes from overall,” Merz said. “False flag operations aren’t just a military tactic; they exist in politics as well, so we should be careful about jumping to conclusions”.

If the votes had come from CDU members,it would have represented an albeit clandestine breach of the so-called cordon sanitaire firewall policyof the former Merkel party against working with the AfD, which was set in place as the establishment deems the party outside the boundaries of acceptability.

CDU Vice Chairwoman Karin Prien said that “if it was colleagues from the CDU state parliamentary group, then that is, of course, completely unacceptable,” adding that her party has “clear resolutions” on prohibiting cooperation with the AfD.

Regardless, the successful selection of Rausch as the head of the state parliament bodes well for the AfD as it looks to form its first state government in December. The lead candidate during last month’s elections,Ulrich Siegmund, said that he viewed the vote this week as a dress rehearsal and a “good sign” for his own run to become Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister-President,the rough equivalent to a governor in the United States.

Siegmund, who has beendubbedby Berlin legacy media outlet Der Spiegel asGermany’s “most dangerous” politicianand who has been tipped as a potential chancellor candidate for the AfD, has said that he will not run again if he fails to secure enough votes for a majoirty in the first round in Decemeber.

Though he already has enough votes in the Landtag between the 39 AfD and five BSW lawmakers, the apparent rift within the CDU may serve to bolster Siegmund even further.

2/2

Should the party openly split at the CDU state party conference in December between those willing to work with the AfD and those who demand the firewall remain intact, defections may be on the cards, potentially meaning that the AfD would not need to rely on the left-wing BSW to form a government in the state.

How well the AfD performs in its role of leading a state parliament and state government will be a major test for the party as it seeks to dethrone the Berlin establishment parties and win the next general election.

Up until now, the party has essentially been relegated to the opposition benches. Even so, a clear runway has seen the party entrench itself as by far the most popular political party in Germany, with its lead continuing to grow.

Indeed, a survey this week from Insa found that the AfD has surpassed the symbolically significant threshold of 30 per cent, reaching 30.5 per cent support. This would give the AfD a 13-point lead over the combined forces of the governing Christian Democrats and their CSU partners in Bavaria.

While the German people are increasingly willing to lend the AfD their vote, the legacy establishment is proving willing to obstruct the party’s progress, even when it has a democratic mandate. The government is already preparing to block future AfD state governments from being able to rule effectively by withholding Federal information from them that state leaders normally get, and the longstanding unanimity rule that protects individual states from being railroaded by others has been scrapped in recent days, openly damaging Germany’s democratic norms purely as a means to confound the AfD.

Some businesses are even getting in on the act. German car giant BMW has long provided not just leased fleet vehicles for the Saxony-Anhalt state government, but the official limousine of the President of the State Parliament too. On Friday the company suddenly withdrew the service, meaning newly elected Rausch must find his own vehicle, leading to the AfD party reaching out directly to Elon Musk for a Tesla.

German newspaper Die Welt notes the withdrawal of the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan came just days after the CEO of the car maker called the AfD “poison”.

Italy Opens Probe Into Organization Allegedly Acting as Autonomous ‘Sharia Court’ in Padua

Christian K. Caruzo9 Oct 2026

Italian authorities are investigating the alleged existence of a parallel Islamic “sharia court” run by an autonomous private arbitration organization in the city of Padua, Veneto.

Public broadcaster Rai News detailed the Padua Public Prosecutor’s officeopened a probe against the “Italian Islamic Arbitration Chamber,” a private organization, on allegations that it is resolving civil and commercial disputes“according to the principles of Sharia.”

The organization was reportedly constituted on March 3 and has been operating for the past seven months, with one of its listed objectives being the “promotion of arbitration as a means of dispute resolution. Rai News observed that, according to the allegations, the Islamic “Arbitration Chamber” claims that its rulings “will have the same effect as a judgement issued by an Italian court.”

The investigation stems from a complaint filed this week by Italian attorney Francesco Minutillo, a member of the Futuro Nazionale party led by former Italian Army general Roberto Vannacci. Per Tgcom24, Minutillo alleges in thecomplaint that the Islamic organization is pushing Italian law “to the sidelines” in favor of Sharia law.

The attorney accused the organization of presenting itself as a “path to Islamic justice in Italy.”

“This is not a matter of religion, but an exclusively legal issue and the potential establishment of a parallel justice system,” Minutillo reportedly stressed.

Italian Prosecutor Angelantonio Racanelli detailed to reporters on Thursday that, at the current phase of the probe, there are no suspects or an alleged crime.Racanelli nevertheless emphasized that his office will carry out the duties entrusted to it by law and will conduct all of the necessary investigations. Justice Minister Carlo Nordio stated to be certain that the Padua magistrates will establish all the corresponding facts.

Rai News and other Italian outlets observed that the Union of Islamic Communities of Italy (UCOII) has distanced itself from the accused organization, and no association, center, or mosque represented by UCOII has “promoted, supported, or recognized” the Padua-based Islamic Arbitration Chamber.

“The UCOII has reiterated that justice is administered by the courts of the Republic and that parallel structures are unnecessary,” Rai News wrote.

According to Rai News, the UCOII affirmed in comments shared with the broadcaster that,on a religious level, Islamic tradition “requires believers to respect the laws of the country in which they live.” The Union added, “relying on the state justice system is consistent with the [Islamic] faith.”

In remarks shared with the local outlet Padova Oggi on Friday, the organization’sfounder Omar Vanin claimed that the Italian Islamic Arbitration Chamber is “not a court” and does not administer a form of “alternative justice, and it could not be otherwise.”

According to Vanin, a 36 year-old attorney residing in Padua, his organization instead conducts arbitrary proceedings, “a widely used tool that has always been part of the Italian legal system, aimed at resolving commercial and property disputes.”

“We do this to offer a tool to businesses and individuals, including those of the Islamic faith who, due to their culture and religious orientation, choose to follow certain principles of Islam in commercial mattersm, such as the prohibition on interest, the principles of fairness in transactions, and the pursuit of a consensual resolution of disputes, always and in all cases in compliance with Italian law,” Vanin reportedly said

“We regret to note that even representatives of institutions can contribute, through statements and public stances, to amplifying a narrative that risks fueling divisions and conflicts,” he added. “Our work stems precisely from the opposite intention: to offer tools for dialogue, mediation, and dispute resolution, in full compliance with Italian law.”
