The Central District Court in Lod sentenced Roan Abd al-Hay, a daycare assistant at Sigal's Kindergarten in Hod Hasharon, to 10 years in prison Sunday after she was convicted of 277 violent offenses against eight toddlers aged eight months to a year and a half. The court also ordered her to pay 450,000 shekels in compensation to the children's parents, to be divided according to the harm suffered by each child, and imposed suspended prison sentences.

Abd al-Hay was convicted in April of abusing children under her care between May and July 2023. The convictions included nine counts of abusing a helpless minor, 146 counts of assault causing bodily harm to a helpless minor and 122 counts of aggravated assault.
