To provide some light upon the subject of white hats/black hats:
There are people who work within the system, and others who do not fit
Then there are people who believe in the ideals which created the system, and those who do not.
Some who work within the system do not believe in it, and likewise some who do not fit still do actually believe in it.
The potential of those who's ideals do not match their position can be oversized.
For this reason it is imperative that those who desire to live in a good world, which is sympathetic to the ideals of community and fellowship which lead people to create the system of society in the first place, focus clearly upon actions which promote positive relationships in whichever situation they find themselves.
You can not know with certainty all of who your allies and antagonists are, but with effort you can know which actions of your own will promote and support those things which you believe in.
