My grandma had 80 acres that was supposed to be mine when I turned 35. She ended up selling it out from under me… told me she never wanted me to be a farmer because they're always poor… and now I have $50,000 coming at the end of this year. For context, she lived from 1918 to 2003.
Now I'm at the point where I'd just like to find 10 good acres and have a small farm with david bradleys. 40 acres would be nice but I don't NEED 40 acres to do what I want to do .
Interest rates are rising, land costs are falling, and the cost of food is picking up… all signs that bode well for farmers.
