Multiple people shot including children by shooter at Oregon elementary school
A shooter gunned down multiple victims, including children, at an Oregon elementary school Thursday.
The shooter, whose identity is unknown, has since been shot dead inside the school.
“Hundreds” of first responders quickly arrived at Silver Rail Elementary School to investigate after a report of shots being fired there, police spokesperson Sheila Miller told reporters. At least two victims have been transported to the hospital in unknown condition, police said.
Miller said police received a call of a shot being fired into a car near the school around 1 p.m., and the police department sent an alert to all nearby officers to respond. Just two minutes later, police were on scene. Seconds after they arrived, Miller said, the shooter was killed.
