Before the Covid 19 "Pandemic", I believed most Americans were mostly like myself in their love for Freedom, and that most had a basic common sense about things, and that it was only a minority who believed in big government tyranny. This is how I was taught to view my fellow citizens in school, on television messaging from the government etc.; that we all had more in common with each other than we thought we did, and that "when the chips were down" the majority of people would come together to fight against a common foe for Freedom. The truth turned out to be just the opposite. During the Pandemic, it was only a minority that fought for freedom, it was only a minority that stood up against government tyranny. This was very eye-opening for me, it made me pessimistic towards people as a social species. I have less trust in people then I ever did before, and know now that if "the chips are ever down" it is God and myself alone to trust.
