Ted Cruz has a problem. Apparently, half the young conservatives applying to work in his office can't stomach his support for Israel.
Think about that. They want to work for TED CRUZ. But they don't like TED CRUZ.
And this might be the funniest—and most revealing—sign yet that the Republican establishment is losing control of the political movement it thought it owned.
A new article explores the growing influence of Nick Fuentes's “Groyper” movement inside Republican politics, including Cruz's warnings about antisemitism, younger conservative activists, and an ideological divide that Washington seems completely unprepared to handle.
But I think the story is MUCH bigger than Nick Fuentes.
In my recent RealClearPolitics op-ed, I asked a simple question: Trump took over the Republican Party, but did the Republican Party ultimately take over Trump?
Now we're seeing what happens when the donor class, Republican consultants, traditional foreign-policy hawks, and a rising generation of anti-establishment conservatives collide.
And the polling tells us something important. Younger voters, independents, and other key parts of Trump's 2024 coalition are moving away from Republicans. The party has a serious generational problem—and calling everyone who challenges the establishment a Groyper isn't going to solve it.
In today's Honest Poll, we're breaking down:
Ted Cruz's hilarious hiring predicament
The real Groyper controversy—and what we actually know about its influence
Why the Republican establishment is losing credibility with younger conservatives
What my latest polling reveals about the changing Republican coalition
How all of this connects to Trump's presidency and the coming battle for the GOP in 2028
The Republican establishment spent ten years figuring out how to control Donald Trump.
Now it's discovering that controlling Trump doesn't mean controlling the movement he created.
