The Clinton Global Initiative has announced a new organization to help rebuild Ukraine and provide humanitarian aid to those impacted by Russia’s 18-month invasion.
In New York, officials at the Clinton Global Initiative 2023 announced the CGI Ukraine Action Network, as well as numerous financial pledges, to support nonprofits working in Ukraine, as the two-day annual conference opens on Monday.
The new organization, which will be formally announced Tuesday, is designed to mobilize existing CGI partners and other leaders from around the world, to create and finance new commitments for Ukrainians.

The Treasury Department announced a settlement with Bank of America for violating anti-money laundering and sanction laws. Bank of America will pay more than $1.2 billion for failing to mitigate and report national security risks, including Chinese Money Laundering Networks and illicit finance along the southwest border. Additionally, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency assessed a $750 million civil money penalty for a faulty anti-money laundering compliance program. The Office of Foreign Assets Control also assessed an $11.6 million penalty for sanction program violations involving Iran, Russia, narcotics, and global terrorism. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network stated that the $1.2 billion penalty against Bank of America is the third largest in Treasury history.
