#UPDATE: According to a Wichita News Flash post, EMS dispatch records detail the injuries suffered by victims after a truck drove through a youth soccer game at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, leaving two people dead and 11 others injured.
EMS dispatch records show that responders ultimately triaged 13 patients. Two were classified as fatalities, five were classified as critical, and six were classified as non-life-threatening at the time of triage.
The reported injuries included:
• A 5-year-old girl with multisystem trauma, abdominal pain, and blood coming from her left ear.
• An 8-year-old boy with multisystem trauma and a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 5, indicating a severely depressed level of consciousness.
• A young boy described in the dispatch audio as either 5 or 6 years old, with apparent head trauma, facial abrasions, and a contusion near his left eye.
• A 68-year-old man with a head injury and blood on his face.
• A 59-year-old woman with abdominal and back pain and diminished breath sounds on her right side, raising concern for a possible pneumothorax.
• An 8-year-old boy with a penetrating injury to the left side of his back.
Additional patients included a 9-year-old girl with a forehead contusion and a large laceration to her right knee, a 65-year-old woman with hip and leg pain, and a 28-year-old woman reporting abdominal, pelvic, and shoulder pain.
A 61-year-old grandmother of one of the victims also experienced a fainting episode following the incident. She was reportedly not struck by the vehicle.
Police identified the driver as a 34-year-old woman from Garden City. She is in custody, and authorities have not yet disclosed what charges, if any, she may face. Police also confirmed that video of the deadly incident exists.
The two people killed were a 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man from McPherson. They were not related.
