US President Donald Trump has presented YouTuber Nick Shirley with a $10,000 check for his 2025 video alleging fraud at Minnesota childcare centres.

Mr Shirley’s video claimed fake childcare centres were being operated by members of Minnesota’s Somali community to collect federal subsidies. The video went viral and caught the attention of Trump administration officials.

UK woman accuses British comedian Russell Brand of rape, says he ignored pleas to stop

"It's something that has lived with me ever since," she said during the often tearful police interview. "I blamed myself for years."

British actor and comedian Russell Brand anally raped a woman who had willingly gone to his house for consensual sex, ignoring her pleas for him to stop, the accuser told police in an interview played to a London court on Tuesday.

Brand, once one of Britain's most high-profile broadcasters and the former husband of US singer Katy Perry, is on trial accused of three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault against six women between 1999 and 2009.

The 51-year-old denies the allegations, and told police after his arrest that ​he had never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity and the accusers might have re-imagined events.

On Tuesday, Southwark Crown Court heard testimony from the final three accusers.

Woman charged with hate crime after allegedly attempting to snatch hijab in Brisbane's bayside

A 66-year-old woman has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly attempting to remove a person's religious clothing at Manly, in Brisbane's bayside, earlier this year.

The woman, from Lakeland in Queensland's far north, is accused of twice verbally harassing a group of people on February 21 at Bayside Park.

It is alleged she also attempted to remove religious clothing from one member of the group.

On September 22, counter terrorism police searched a Manly property, and charged the woman with one count of common assault with a serious vilification or hate crime circumstance of aggravation.

She is due to face Wynnum Magistrates Court next Monday.
