Looks like a CBDC being set up, more fed control. I thought we were going to hang the bankers and return their ill gotten gains back to the people????

On Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) had issued a final rule for GENIUS Act stablecoin rules.

“The GENIUS Act marks a watershed moment in American finance, further cementing the United States as the crypto capital of the world. Just as President Abraham Lincoln’s National Currency Act of 1863 established a national framework for bank-issued currency, the GENIUS Act establishes a federal framework for payment stablecoins in the digital age,” Bessent announced on X.

“The OCC’s final rule carries that landmark legislation forward, providing a clear, practical foundation for private-sector innovation, competition, and American leadership in digital assets.”

Bessent is also correct to compare The GENIUS Act to what Lincoln passed and signed so long ago.

Before 1863, the U.S. had no national banking system at the federal level, and banks simply issued banknotes that were easily manipulated.

The day after Vance refuses to endorse Bibi

Trump Indicates He Doesn't Yet View JD Vance As His Successor

This was awkward and unexpected, but on Tuesday in front of reporters' cameras, President Trump refused to commit to endorsing Vice President JD Vance for president in 2028.

He shrugged off a direct question about it, saying instead that Republicans first need to get through the midterms. Vance, standing behind the president in the Oval, seemed deeply uncomfortable when Trump noted that the two had never discussed such an endorsement - though he did call Vance "deeply talented".

“He’s a very talented person and he’s a very good person,” Trump said when asked alongside Vance in the Oval Office.

“I don’t think we’ve ever talked about it,” the president said, turning to Vance.

“No, sir. I said that too,” Vance chimed in. “Who would believe that?” Trump said, “I don’t talk about it with him. He doesn’t talk about it [with me]. It’s early.”

“We have to get through the midterms. We’ll see how it goes,” he added

Trump insisted it's too early, but the exchange raises huge questions about the Republican Party's future leadership, given other big contenders could be waiting in the wings, like Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The moment was all the more awkward for Vance given it came a mere day after the Vice President said he believed Trump would indeed endorse him if he ran for 2028.

Here's what Vance said in an interview on Monday, though he was obviously speculating:

“I think I would get his endorsement, but I also think there’s something to be said for people actually running their own race,” the vice president said.

“And because the president’s endorsement is so dispositive, you could absolutely see a scenario where the president says, ‘You know what? We need to let like this race play out and not preemptively prejudge the results.’”

Bloomberg Drops $80 Million On Democrats' Midterm Push: $24 Million To Everytown, $16 Million To House Majority PAC

Michael Bloomberg has sent about $80 million to Democratic causes in September and October, with at least $50 million aimed at House races and roughly $10 million more on the way, according to figures his team gave The New York Times. The filings that would confirm the gifts are not yet public: they are due this week, and some of the giving was still under way when the Times reported it Tuesday.

The biggest House checks went to two groups: $24 million to Everytown for Gun Safety, which he co-founded, and $16 million to House Majority PAC, the super PAC aligned with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Bloomberg is now the largest disclosed donor to both groups. His Everytown money also freed up House Majority PAC funds for a roughly $10 million joint ad campaign for eight women House Democrats who have worked on gun safety.

The rest, as itemized: $5 million to the super PAC allied with the League of Conservation Voters, $3.5 million to a group electing Democratic scientists and doctors, $2.5 million to a super PAC backing Texas Senate nominee James Talarico, $8 million across about six battleground governor's races, and $2.5 million to a super PAC backing New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. Those seven gifts add up to $61.5 million, so about $18.5 million of the $80 million is not broken out by recipient, and one donation backing Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a possible 2028 candidate, carries no amount.

Howard Wolfson, Bloomberg's political adviser, said the donor "believes in participation in our democracy," that "resources matter in campaigns," and that he "expects a result." "The difference between 221 and 230, in terms of the House majority, really matters," Wolfson said. Jeffries said Bloomberg "played an incredibly instrumental role" in the 2018 midterms and that his support "will once again help Democrats flip the House."
