I get your point, anon, but you should know a less commonly known meaning of the Greek suffix -phil is the scientific meaning of "tendency toward." So a hydrophilac organism has a tendency to be drawn toward water. A pedophile has a tendency to be drawn toward children. But yea, ew. Either way.
