My grand-dad was a plane mechanic.
He craashed on Greenland in a Helicopter he wasn't authorized to fly, simply because it's an unwritten rule that if you build it you test-fly it.
Kinda like old canons, where the canon-builder were forced to sit on the barrel during the test firing.
