The ego keeps the whole thing moving. It's our interpreter. Kinda like a guide.
Problem is, the ego is very childish. If we let it have control (which is what we are taught to do) we tend to fall into all sorts of terrible shit.
Lust for money/power/women. All this comes from the ego.
It's not innately negative, though. We couldn't exist here without it. We just have to remind it to "get behind us" whenever it tries to take over.
We don't want to kill it - that would kill us. Besides, it's a hell of a good driver.

Pretty sure the trump team knew that there were a hand full of actual reporters still out there. It would have been a real pain in the ass for those actual good people to figure out the truth and start reporting on it before the time was right.
I do believe those like Sara Carter and Hannity have been brought into the circle to help push the truth - only on Trump's timeline, not the media's.
