Too much happening for me to focus on this, but one thing I've wondered is if this plane had capability to be remotely controlled, and therefore landed remotely (fly-by-wire a la 9/11 is what I remember without googling).
Yeah, yeah, no planes, but they might have at least taken off from Logan, etc., and been redirected.
