I clearly remember TV & radio getting REALLY strange after this act was passed. The Discovery channel, and most other channels that were once educational, began to lean towards entertainment. The children's programming became openly…liberal. Didn't know what to call it then, yet the [4am] talking points seemed to be much more coordinated after 1996. The music promoted to the young changed drastically also, stars were practically forced into the spotlight & given to the young to follow, admire and emulate. The Y2K scare blasted over media in 1999 was a test run of sorts, many believed that everything would come crashing down & that it'd be lights out. 5 years after 1996 (9/11) made it clear to me that a brainwashing machine is what they were building. And it worked just fine, took fantasy land to a whole new level of media fuckery.

Tl;Dr version, I PRAY that a new Telecommunications Act is on the way, this shit has gotten out of hand!
