The series ‘Lost in Space,’ a reimagining of the 1965 original series of the same name, is looking for individuals to audition on Saturday, August 18 from 10 to 5 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel in Drumheller. They plan to begin filming from September 10 to September 21 in the Drumheller area.

Casting directors are looking for men, women, and children of Caucasian, Asian, African-American, Hispanic, and East Indian descent between the ages of 8-60 years old. No experience is necessary.

The remake of the 1960s series is set 30 years in the future where a young family from earth is lost and stranded in an alien universe. Producers chose to film in the Drumheller area as the landscape can look other-worldly.

The show debuted in April this year with season one and was almost immediately approved for a second season by Netflix.

Drumheller is a town northeast of Calgary, in Alberta, Canada. On the edge of town, in Midland Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum contains a large collection of dinosaur fossils. Downtown, stairs wind inside the “World’s Largest Dinosaur,” a giant model T-Rex with views from its jaw. To the southeast, the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site explores the Drumheller Valley’s coal-mining heritage.
