I just did some reading on Senator Richard Russell.
He was the first public dissenter in the Warren Commission. He was very vocal about it during hearings and right after the Warren report came out. and was speaking with people in 1970 who were trying to write about and revisit the Kennedy assassination. He died of lung cancer in January 1971.
