"we can all come to a sustainable agreement about what is true."

Truth by consensus? Yeah, right since there are so many scholars here and discussions are so meaningful.

You have been indoctrinated well.

You can't even see it in yourselves

Why don't you study the first 1500 years of Christianity and explain that part.

It was able to spread by tying it self to secular power to propagate the message and was often compromised by politics and corruption (as were all organizations EVER)

It leads directly to all current forms of Christianity

Why are they all slightly different?

"I just try to focus on Catholicism here yet it is nearly impossible to not consider the rest".

I suggested a starting point, since I have done my research, but presumed you got distracted by the spinoffs.

This board is full of one sentence experts, and that is usually where their knowledge ends. The can never put it into any reasonable context.

I made a simple observation that for ~ 1500 years "Christianity" and the "Catholic Church" were synonymous.

I do know a lot about it but doubt many on this board have even a clue.

Maybe you are the exception, if "Theo" implies theologian
