So where is this locked residential "cottage" called Ketron Cottage?

The Child Study and Treatment Center - CSTC, located in Lakewood, WA is the only state-operated and funded psychiatric hospital for children and youth who have psychological and safety needs that cannot be met in their community. The Children's Long-term Inpatient Program - CLIP Administration manages referrals to CSTC in coordination with the family/guardian and local Behavioral Health Organizations - BHO.

Accredited by The Joint Commission, CSTC provides culturally competent care to children and youth with severe emotional and behavioral disorders that are typically complicated by medical, social, legal and developmental issues. CSTC has a total of 47 beds. Children and youth live on one of three locked residential cottages with up to 15 other patients. Camano Cottage serves children ages 6 to 12; Ketron Cottage serves youth up to 14; and Orcas Cottage serves the older youth up to the age of 18. While it may be longer or shorter depending on need, the approximate length of treatment is 6 months to one year.

The psychiatric treatment/therapy program is based on the most current evidence-based practices including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, life and relationship skills development, family, recreational and other specialized therapies. Clinical services include psychiatric/medical oversight, medication management and 24-hour nursing services. CSTC welcomes families, guardians and community supports to participate in treatment and discharge planning so that children can successfully move back to their family home, or community-based foster placement.

"Leaving Ketron Cottage"

by a young man, age 13

It’s been a long time.

I will miss you guys a lot.

I will start working on my skills.

And I will get better.

I am sad that I am leaving.

And I will never forget you guys.

You have always been the light in my shadow

and lit me up.

When I first got here, I was a butthead.

I’ve really changed mentally.

I used to hit my Mom,

and this is the only facility

that I’ve learned anything.

All the other facilities,

they just threw me down on a bed

and gave me food

and they forgot I was there

and my mom had to call.

But you guys lighten my smile

and you guys changed me a lot

and that helped me a lot.

I was like a gorilla

who didn’t know when to stop eating bananas.

And now I am

like always full.

In six months, I will come back

and see how new everybody is

and be the best I could be

out in the community and not upset my mom.

I am going to be on American Idol

and beat all the people and try my hardest.

It's odd that you don't just state the location of Ketron Cottage and who owns it if you contest it is a slide.

Imo, a locked children's psychiatric facility is worth looking into regardless of whether it's on the Island or not.
