Some lie detector tests can be defeated by learned behavior. But you can not lie in reverse. Whatever is heard is what the person is really thinking. Sometimes it is congruent with what they are saying in forward speech--that which you are hearing. Other times it is different.
Symbols are a recurring theme in reverse speech, just like this board. Symbols enable decoding of some cryptic reverse speech. So the word "wolf," for example, has the normal meaning but also symbolizes something else.
Listening to a tape in reverse, most of it is usually gibberish. You have to go through it listening attentively for when the coherent words pop up. If there is high emotional content in the forward speech, you are more likely to have a corresponding statement in reverse at that point.
