If the flight path that has been put up here is accurate he took care to avoid populated areas, so could be whitehat.
Event could have been a cover for the strike aircraft that showed up quickly. (All though all I have seen is that they were F-15, not what variant)
Also I thought the audio came out pretty damn quick.
