These are the types of old Polish traditional clothes. We are talking about the stripes on his belt/ or other textile ( so I guess in clothing or other materials as well). I can't find much about it other than what I already shared.

Poland is over 2000 years old, and the lingo changed thought history. Plus the many dialects don't help much.

I don't think it has anything to do with strzyc. That's from a completely different root word.

So our best bet is just to take it as a last name
