Anons, here is some background on Catholic symbolism which may have been inverted by those associated with the various odd images that appeared last evening and this morning in various breads on empty swimming pools.

First, please keep in mind (and this ought not need to be said but given new eyes let us say it upfront), it is with caution that one attempts to interpret the symbolism of a religious faith, its traditions, and its contemporary applications.

As I said, I do think Catholic symbolism has been inverted in some of the images on display.

Pools can be baptismal, yes, but to what end is baptism where God is rejected? Consider the secular and the irreligious meanings of a baptismal pool or waters. Then consider an empty pool's usage in lieu.

Consider the notions of depth of feeling, depth of thinking, depth of faith, depth of loyalty, depth of devotion and the like. How deep if the pool is empty?

So here is a graphic that touches on Red Shoes and on the Room of Tears (the Crying Room) each of which has a very humble and sacrificial beginning in Christography, at the very least.

Cheers and allspeed Anons.
