We will only know how to handle the traffic increase when it comes honestly. Today was rough admittedly, with 1300+ PPH (about 6x /pol/ avg. speed) during the time Q was posting.
For bakers, the best help they can get are more sets of eyes to collect notables to give the baker some time to have the next bread ready. We also encourage them to bake earlier (@ around 650-700 posts) in case of lag/connection issues.
As for newfags, the most we can do is ignore them. The BVs and I are busy all day dealing with tons of new threads being created because newfags do not know how to enter a thread (or just refuse to) and post inside. You can still see a whole bunch of shit threads on the catalog that we've bumplocked. We deal with these as quickly as possible so that other useful threads do not end up falling off the board so quickly leaving garbage at the top. As usual, anons are again reminded not to engage newfags or shills in the General Bread especially during these high-volume spurts, as that just adds chatter to the bread, filling it up more quickly (creating stress for the baker).
TL;DR
Don't engage newfags or shills when the board hits top speed, and help bakers collect notables if you can.

A lot of the threads have also been deleted from the catalog (duplicates mostly). There were a shit ton before.
