Just free associating here about the idea of the matrix.
Life is not a video game. I listened to a Staff Sgt. complaining about people playing Call of Duty and deciding to join the marines because they believe being a Marine = Call of Duty. Rude awakening there with 13 weeks of actually becoming a Marine or breaking beyond repair in the attempt - 60% failure rate, some suicide rather than accept Call of Duty does not = being a Marine.
Slavery vs. Freedom. With freedom comes great responsibility. Fault or favor lies completely with the person who is free. Slavery is easier for many. All are equal under slavery = worth less than nothing, but free from responsibility.
Fantasy vs. reality. Reality is hard. Reality takes work, using judgement and testing and discernment - discarding that which is false and keeping that which is true. Fantasy is the greatest enslaver of all. Fantasy requires no work, no judgement, no responsibility.
Not sure where I'm going with this, except that those who enslave and enrich themselves do so with the tacit approval of those they enslave, abuse, and steal from - the fantasists. Those who test reality, who work, who accept personal responsibility are their enemies. It has always been so. Being enslaved to the enslavers willingly, through fantasy – that is the matrix.
