Anything laser (light) based is susceptible to weather (fog, mist, spray, rain, snow). The big AF laser mounted in a jet greatly limited by cloud cover - it attenuates the power of ANY laser system. Breaking up (reflecting) light beams is part of laser energy weapons defense strategy.
