Pssst… it was the Jews that sacrificed animals as offerings to God at His command. And,if you do your research, you will see that every other religion on earth, almost without exception, has copied this practice. Please do better research, fren. You are embarrassing yourself.

>Please cal down and try to take your emotions out of this. The Bible was codified, not canonized. Canonization is for saints.

Bless you, anon, for bringing a voice of reason to this discussion. Our friend here is so upset he can't think straight.

Cardinal Newman, a convert to Catholicism once said, "To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant." This is not an emotional topic but a factual one, fren. Pray for the grace to know the truth and employ reliable sources (maybe not on the internet), to fuel your research. I will pray for you, but will not argue.

Forgive me for replying to myself, but I messed up the corresponding links to the posts in my original reply. My computer is giving me fits, cutting in and out and pasting over what I've already typed, and I didn't notice my mistake. I hope it makes sense. If not, mea culpa.

Actually, codify is the proper word for what the Church did in gathering the various texts, vetting them, and making a cohesive whole of the ones deemed authentic to form the canon of the Bible. I can't remember at which council this happened, Nicea or Florence, or…? It was around the year 300AD, so probably Nicea. Not sure though.

Solid input, thanks.

Children are born ignorant, not atheist. Atheism is a belief. Infants have no beliefs

Passing on the faith is not indoctrinating and brainwashing, It is teaching and one of a parent's most important responsibilities. Scripture teaches about the education of children: Train him up in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Christianity is civilizing and gives one a moral compass by which to live. God has commanded we belong to His Church, the only one He Himself founded, the Catholic Church, outside of which we cannot save our souls.
