I didn't want to throw a tangent in when the swimming pool was being analyzed, but I feel comfortable now saying here that when I was digging back in the day I noticed that the abandoned Dupont Circle tunnels in Washington, D.C. had tiled walls that I thought might have a connection to those paintings, and I vaguely remember one with a bench that I can't find in a quick search:
