Five years ago, Stephens opened the Alotian Club, a private golf club set in the middle of 1,200 acres of timberland overlooking Lake Maumelle, just west of Little Rock. The course was designed by Tom Fazio, and the clubhouse is modeled after a Southern plantation house. Membership is by invitation only, and the names on the lockers in the locker room speak to some of the country's most prominent CEOs and professional golfers. Most fly in by private jet; fewer than 40% are from Arkansas."
