Did some digs on this years ago. Even had the space-sub image included. Main idea was that

1) ISS makes no sense (as a craft in vacuum).

2) building viable space craft (in space) on the sub model, section by section, made more sense.

SSP is real, apparently.

Another point worth mentioning. On most launches the live feeds cut out at/after the second stage, and goes over to CGI. Lots a room for hiding.
