We have at least a $2 million dollar commitment to CHAI every year, a $2.1 million dollar commitment to the Alliance, $4.3 million in unreimbursed costs at the Clinton Presidential Center, and general operating costs of approximately $14.5 million. Next year, we are looking at an additional $2.5 million for Haiti above what is currently in our Haiti fund. We are also considering what we should be doing in the climate space. What is currently being proposed would cost an additional $2.5 million — $1.6 million for a domestic retrofit program (both commercial and residential) and $900,000 for solar and alternative energy. Subject: Fundraising Priorities for 2012

Bruce and John,

Hope all is well. I’m putting together the Development Office’s fundraising plan and schedule for next year, and it would be extremely helpful to have a clearer understanding of the Foundation’s overall priorities for 2012. For example, our expected financial commitments to certain initiatives for next year, any new projects on the horizon that may tap into our CF donor base, etc. In addition, I’d like to have a quick chat about the permanent endowment fund campaign plan that I’ve been drafting.

Could we do a call at your convenience, ideally before the holidays?

Thanks!

Dennis

9) Suggests holding on any doc review at the archives until he returns to Little Rock. Two exceptions–White House requests he can handle by email; if any other emergency request comes up, I can process. I'm holding a TS clearance. Scott, you may need to figure out what we need to do to add me to the review authority. Hopefully, this won't be an issue and can just slide till he gets back there.

The Washington Post story that revealed the Algerian embassy’s donation of $500,000 also mention that the one-time gift coincided with increased lobbying visits to the State Department about human rights violations. In 2010, Algeria spent more than $420,000 lobbying American officials on inter-country relations and on "human rights issues," the Post found, citing documents filed as part of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The year also saw an increase in meetings between State Department officials and lobbyists representing Algeria, growing from "a handful" of recorded visits in the years before and after to 12 visits in 2010, the Post reported. The Algeria donation came soon after the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti, the Clinton Foundation said <https://www.clintonfoundation.org/press/facts#sthash.CbslGu5F.dpuf>. It was unsolicited and went to the Clinton Foundation Haiti Relief Fund, "where the entire amount of Algeria’s contribution was distributed as aid in Haiti." Algeria had not donated before and has not donated since, a foundation spokesman said. The foundation acknowledged it did not alert the State Department about the gift for vetting, which was required under a memorandum of understanding between the Obama administration and the Clintons in an effort to prevent foreign governments from trying to curry favor with Hillary Clinton’s State Department by donating to Bill Clinton’s philanthropy.

Most of the recent government grants were directed to a Clinton Foundation program/project. For example (and we should verify with the Foundation if > we are sharing this publicly): > > > > Germany’s donation was to support CF’s agricultural initiative in Africa > > Norway I believe was to support CF’s climate work > > Canada was for the Foundation’s work in Haiti, I believe > > These countries were definitely specifically for a CF program: Norway, > Italy, Australia and the Netherlands > > Qatar was for CGI

Dear John,

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday season. It has been quite a busy month in Washington, and I'm excited to tell you about an upcoming event that I'll be having in the Capitol Region. On Saturday, January 16th, I will be at Local Ocean, a world-class, first of its kind seafood aquaculture facility right here in Columbia County.

Local Ocean is an excellent example of how green industries can re-energize our local economy in Upstate New York. This Hudson-based venture is creating jobs and engaging in sustainable, aquaculture practices. I hope you'll join me at 5:30pm on January 16th to discuss the issues facing our country and see this extraordinary, new project. Details are listed below.

If you are interested in co-hosting or attending, please contact Val Delp at val@kirstengillibrand.com or 347-455-0845. Or, you may RSVP online at www.kirstengillibrand.com/localocean.

Warm regards,

Kirsten
