Just dug a little on the Shangri-La Resort. Looks like the family that owns it now is not the same as those who originally built it in 1956. Am thinking the thrust of the original hint is that Nazis were relocated to this area after the war, and the name Shangri-La was possibly evidence/a connection to that Nazi influence in the area.
