The spread of a fringe theory known as “QAnon” through social media posts and message boards is linked to acts of violence and threats of assassination from some unstable individuals prone to swallow conspiracy theories whole.
NBC News reported Aug. 14 that many people apparently believe the political mythology centered around “Q,” the pseudonym of a person claiming to be a high-ranking military officer who supposedly posts to fringe message boards.
