So correct. This is an excellent post. It was William Penn who the jurors failed to convict for the Crown. He wanted freedom of religion, not the Crown's imposed religion. Those brave jurors held out in miserable conditions, and now we have Pennsylvania.
As a juror, you absolutely can refuse to convict your fellow citizen if you believe the proceedings are Constitutionally Unlawful. And you don't have to give your reason. You can keep your mouth shut and simply refuse to find the defendant guilty. ONE juror can hang the whole jury.
When you get that notice to appear for jury duty, GO. It is our true opportunity to serve, and when appropriate, to nullify, for that one particular case, unlawful state proceedings.
