As a background, McCarthy would tag anyone in public as a "fifth amendment communist" who would not answer a question, which typically had devastating consequences on their employment.

~31:15 McCarthy had submitted a photo of two people in order to show that one was lying about not meeting the other. It turned out to be a cropped photo with another person.

~44 minutes Eisenhower had enough of some aspects of the testimony and sent a letter ordering his military to not testify about certain aspects of the hearings. McCarthy claimed that Eisenhower was not able to do this and that overruling the president was the most important determination of the hearings. He didn't care about separation of powers in the constitution.

~53 a letter submitted to the hearings by McCarthy is supposed to be from J. Edgar Hoover and is disavowed by him in a letter.

~1:00 after it was determined that a letter purported to be from J. Edgar Hoover was phony, McCarthy refused to name the source of the letter and violated his oath.
