Can any historyfags help me identify the people in the framed painted pictures situated in the all Red Dining Room inside the Vanderbilts Marble House??

For those who don't know the biltmore estate is not the only "Vanderbilt House" (search term)

There are many. Several including Cornelius Vanderbilt House II have been demolished in the early 1990's.

I looked through as many as I could last night, only thing that stood out was the dining room in the Marble House. Pictured below. All houses have interesting looking fireplaces. Who are these historical figures in the dining room paintings?? would like to dig on them and see why the Vanderbilts glorify them so much.
