Have you thought about the private prison thing from a different angle?
Think about the people that are going to end up in these for profit prisons. Are they the same people who have been creating modern US slaves via an unjust legal system and these very same prisons?
I think that this is POTUS creating a real taste of their own medicine for these people. Rather than a generation of black youth incarcerated as quasi-slaves and made to run telephone call centres for multi national companies, it'll be the CEOs of these companies having to do the slave labour.
