Paul, the corrupted had found salvation.

While Peter, the previously uncorrupted, fell to damnation.

And it was all because Peter wanted to be the head of the Church of Christ and the father of the oncoming Messiah, but he was denied the chance when it was revealed that Judas would be the one tasked with saving the world.

Peter was jealous and as Judas continued his mission, Peter wrote lies and convinced others to write lies about Judas, knowing that Judas would be unable to present himself in public while his task remained unfinished.

The Catholic church is one that naturally works against Jesus because its foundation began with Peter working against Jesus and Judas's plan to save the world because Peter wanted his lineage to be the Holy one.

Peter denied Christ three times and thus, was blocked from Salvation.

Paul did not ever deny Christ and thus, was saved and reminded by Christ of his sacred duty (that started as Judas); one that would solidify his lineage as the lineage of Christ because the Christ lineage performs the ultimate sacrifice: Transmigration.

Peter wanted to usurp the Christ lineage and started Catholicism.

It is not convoluted at all. It is a story of Betrayal on one side, and Obedience/Faith on the other.
